Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal Xbox Headset Revealed (Reviews and more here)

Don’t have the Portals yet, still not available in Brazil and importing it here it will at least triple the price.

I plan to get them on my next trip, whenever I’m allowed to travel again :stuck_out_tongue:

But the low quality of spotify songs is something that bothers me even on my current cans, so perhaps it will be an improvement even without them

What are you currently using?

The saga continues. Amazon dropped the ball on me too. I now have ordered the piece directly at Bang & Olufson. Let’s see how they will perform.

Stay strong, brother. I’m sure B&O won’t let you down.

B&O already shipped it. Should be here by tomorrow. Should have ordered it there from the beginning!

Hope this comes through. So how did Amazon mess up?

I do not know. Possibly they had not enough units available. Got no explanation just a mail they try to deliver as soon as possible without a new shipping date. That showed me that it may would take longer than I was willing to wait. So I canceled today and ordered at B&O directly instead. Seems to have worked. Shipped. Have a tracking no.

Congrats, Bro!!! Enjoy!

Cool “trick”, you can actually turn on your Xbox Series X|S with your Portals using the “Pair” button. So let’s say you are out using your Portals and you decide that you want to jump into a game when you get home, all you have to do is press the “pair” button and it’ll turn on your console and pair it up at the same time… Seamless!

Quick comparison from my personal perspective from devices I own:

I currently have Razer Cairo Pro, Xbox Wireless Headset and now the B&O.

The B&O are the best I own (I already can tell that). The Xbox Wireless are the 2nd best and the Razer is third.

The Razer is third because of design and wireless quality. The only headset that sometimes has a bad connection that caused noise in the headphones. You also cannot use them outside as they scream gaming.

Though the mic is slightly better than on the Xbox Wireless

The Xbox Wireless is 2nd because it works flawlessly with the Xbox. Though it has a better design than the Razer it still is easily noticeably as gaming. Sound is good.

The B&O is first, the sound is superb, not yet a chance to test the mic. But ANC is a big plus. It also comes with a wire if you want to operate it won your Controller. Nobody else has this (of what I own).

The B&O is also the only one I actually can use for music in good quality too. An All-In-One monster. And I do not care about mixing music and game sound while I am playing. I never listed to music while I am gaming.

That is all I can say for now!

This turned out better than his tweet let to believe.

Yup. and 2 of 3 negatives (price, mix Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless simultaneous) I do not care. I also think the mic is not as bad as it is described.

I feel the same way especially when looking at the price, the Portals are basically the HX’s when it comes to components which sell for the same price ($499). So when you consider all the gaming centered functionalities incorporated into the Portal’s, the price is justified.

So what deals can be had for Deezer? I only used Spotify when there was freebies, otherwise I kind of focus more on PodCasts or TV for background noise.

I’m not sure if I’m understanding what you are asking me, but this is the free service they provide.

The base question was, do you know of any deals for Deezer HiFi? Like for Spotify Premium there are deals if you have GamePass Ultimate to get a few months free.

The page @ https://www.deezer.com/us/offers/premium lists quality audio as a benefit of their Premium Tier. So I assumed the quality on the free tier is less(er). So you’re saying even their free tier is far superior?

High-quality audio

Enjoy music with high quality audio for a better listening experience.

They also have a Deezer HiFi listing @ https://www.deezer.com/us/offers/hifi with the following wording:

High Fidelity sound

Listen to FLAC music in High Fidelity sound as if you were right in the recording studio.

High-end sound system compatibility

Enjoy crystal clear music on your home sound system.

EDIT: I should have kept looking, eventually saw the following:

EDIT 2: Spotify’s bitrate listings shows the following:
