Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 - First Details on the Next Epic Call of Duty

Feel the same way. Bought the Bond game and got 10-dollar gift card but will not be getting this. Perhaps they should put it on a Nintendo showcase though.

The sad thing … probably still buying COD this year :upside_down_face: … not a guarantee but definitely maybe.

They should release the Switch 2 version same day as GTA6.

Good luck then. I’m standing on business Halo I might buy.

The campaign this year looks great but I’d rather have $22 GPU if that’s the trade. :man_shrugging: I’ll play MW4 in a couple years.

They’re working with Digital Legends for the Switch 2 port. Also, interesting that they seem to be keen not to do the cross-entitlement with Battle Net. I thought maybe they’d bring that back this year with COD not on GP day one. Both no COD on Game Pass and no cross entitlement with Battle Net (which we’ve seen them do before) is kinda annoying. Also strange to keep things feeling so… “not all of this is owned by Xbox”. I had expected Battle Net cross entitlement to join Xbox Play Anywhere for jew releases (which they were doing but seem to have stopped). At least it’s still Xbox Play Anywhere.

It only took nearly the entire next era . Crazy that COD is only just now dropping last Gen support the year before next gen. I wonder if next time around (with the series consoles as last gen) if we’ll see COD support three generations of consoles in 2034/2035. Though I suppose that far out there’s other questions .

This is so unnecessarily complicated laid out like this, but there is a bone being thrown to Game Pass users.

Vault Edition: Call of Duty Loyalty Discount

Via digital Pre-order and Pre-purchase on platform storefronts

If you’ve digitally or physically owned and played a premium Call of Duty title dating back to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), or have played one of these titles via Game Pass and have an active Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or PC subscription, expect to digitally preorder the Vault Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 with a 10% discount compared to the standard MSRP.

Here’s how this works:

Qualifying Call of Duty Titles

The discount is available if you own and have played a qualifying previous title, through digital or physical purchase, via an active Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or PC subscription that has previously played one of these titles, or by claiming the title via PlayStation® Plus Monthly Games. Any edition of the previous title qualifies. Here are the titles:

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered (2020)

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

  • Call of Duty: Vanguard

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022)

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (2023)

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

Qualifying Platform Eligibility

The discount is only available at checkout if you pre-order or pre-purchase Modern Warfare 4 on the same gaming platform and with the same platform account used for the previous qualifying title.

Loyalty Discount: Additional Information

Ensure you claim your Loyalty Discount in time, and note the following intel:

  • Expect a 10% discount to the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 4.

  • This discount applies to the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 4 only.

  • The discount should appear within the in-game store or platform digital storefront, prior to checkout.

  • This discount only applies to pre-orders and pre-purchases; this offer is valid until October 23, 2026. This offer is subject to change.

  • This discount is not available to Vault upgrades; meaning you cannot pre-order or pre-purchase the Standard Digital Edition and then upgrade to the Vault Edition afterwards and obtain the discount.

Further Information: If you require additional support information or guidance regarding the Loyalty Discount, please visit Activision Support’s Modern Warfare 4 page.

Mind you, it’s not a very good bone. Kinda just an adjacent bone really. Speaking of GP benefits, I suddenly really miss the flat 20% discount off all GP games . Would’ve been appreciated if they brought that back for COD. “Ultimate members get all first party Xbox games day one & members in good standing for more than 6 months get 20% off all first party games including COD.”

Thinking about pricing makes me wonder how the average gamer (not those of us plugged into gaming news and analytics) knows to justify COD being treated different than other first party AAA games when they’re all priced the same?

Gonna take a whole lot before I even get slightly excited about Call of Duty, let alone even buy it.

I have a hard time telling these games apart to be honest.

What sucks about this is they raised the price 10 USD because of CoD, they removed CoD and raised the price 3 USD.

Compared to BO7 and it’s trending a lot better. Time to deliver it.

Some snippets of multiplayer are coming out and even not in best quality, the fidelity freedom from last gen is really showing. This is basically their “soft reboot”.

Infinity Ward will get the series back on track. IMO, they should be the only team to work on the mainline COD campaign games

I’ll be honest. Some of these things I have seen lately are speaking to me. It has that resurgence interest of MW 2019. It feels like their soft reboot for not just the franchise but for IW itself. There are aspects that actually talk to me and while I’m not 100% convinced, I’m at least intrigued to see more.

It looks really good & for me IW have never made a bad COD game.

I’m expecting big things this year, more so with no cross-gen crap & IW pushing their tech to the max

Considering Blops6 was so well received, that makes no sense.

I think IW make the best games in the series & that having a new COD every year is too much & running the IP into the ground like with Assassin’s Creed.

That’s my view & much rather see Raven make a sequel to Quake 4 or Singularity too

I agree that the yearly CoD isn’t good for the franchise, as that leads to games like Blops7 where they have very little time to do a full campaign. I think that having a new CoD every 2 years would work better.

But I still think that if the other studios want to continue to make CoD campaigns they should be allowed.
