Pitches?

No need to be excited for atleast 3-5 years.

Quick tip for anyone playing AC Shadows and getting long lags after a while where the UI fails to load and some sounds are delayed (plus the map and menu are slow to open).

Also some textures pop in or fail to load for ages.

Disable dynamic resolution - for me it’s stopped nearly all the slowdown and loading times etc are back to normal now (this appears to have been introduced in the patch about a month ago) - while DLSS more than takes up the slack.

Even on Xbox or PS5, FSR should do a better job, even if you have to reduce resolution a bit - I’ve honestly never seen a defaulted-to-on optimisation setting by a developer so clearly make the game so much worse to play…

Which is probably the same amount of time it would have taken for Everwild to become something worth showing to people.

Not sure I get it. :winking_face_with_tongue:

Buddy of mine bought a Steamdeck and sheesh, next to being able to play Xbox, PS and Steam games he can use emulators as well of course. He just showed me a video of him playing Mario Kart 8 on it, I never really realised how cool these things are.

I would have had one since day one if I was about handheld gaming.

I have a rog ally and I like it a lot . It give me easy access to game pass, steam and other store fronts. I think this market is fascinating and interested to see where it goes. It’s funny I bought a switch 2 and barely touched it but still play on my ally heavily

Honestly, if it catches on, this could work for Xbox Ally favor. It is a novel piece.

COD WWII was the corniest campaign.

Speaking of which, the game rose top 20 in most played. CoD really has all the cash in the bag.

Literally me, except with an Ally X - late Xmas present from my wife

I’ve actually been playing wayyyyyyy too much Mario Kart World, and I am eyeing the ROG Ally X, but with such a huge backlog on Switch I feel like maybe I’ll wait.

For me perfect scenario would be Xbox Handheld (first or 3rd party, don’t really care) that could run the whole library of games, even if at lower quality when it comes to new titles. That way I’d get the handheld and run everything else on a high end PC. Would literally be the best of both worlds imo.

I feel like I’d regret current handheld PC initiatives considering all I already own and I feel like waiting is the best thing for me. But the ROG Ally X is indeed incredibly tempting!

If MS would release a few games on Switch 2 though, I could see myself double dipping just as a ‘‘portable Xbox’’ replacement in the meantime.

My youngest nephew is going to Imagine Dragons live with his father. I’ve known about this surprise for a while but today he learned about it.

On WhatsApp he told me that his dream has come true, with teary eyed emoticons. It’s his favorite band.

I love this.

Does anyone else feel there’s a saturation of indie games?

I think there has always been more indies than 1st party, it’s just the process for making games got better and the smaller titles got a boon that AAA can’t keep up with.

Or do you mean similar ideas? Because AAA is just as guilty at doing the same ideas over and over again.

I think some people have a certain game they picture when they think of an “indie” game. I saw this when some people referred to Ori as an “indie” even though it was published and funded by Microsoft and a first party game . The first Hellblade was an indie game originally. Self funded and published by Ninja Theory . Indie just means independent and no you can never have enough of that. Especially in this current climate I can understand why certain devs may want to self publish.

I used to work at venues (concerts). It’s where you’ll find some of the happiest customers, especially families.

18,727 games were released on Steam alone in 2024. We’re well past saturation.
