Xbox cancels some unannounced projects while they have 12 games coming in a year, including multiplatform releases, and has 40 projects in the works: ‘‘MS is killing the videogame industry, boycott them!!!’’
Sony releases 2 games in a year, cancels a dozen GAAS projects, closes down studios: ‘‘It’s MS’ fault, Gamepass is devaluing games!’’
As a rational human-being tethered to objective reality, I do all the time and things would look very different, indeed.
Sony have literally cancelled more than triple the number of titles Xbox has this generation and have closed twelve studios in the last 13 years for fuck’s sake, on top of having less output in three years than Xbox has had in one, but we’re still supposed to believe a single word that comes out of these outlets’ mouths at this point? It’s no different than other media industries, and you’re a fool if you ever thought otherwise honestly…
So I just finished watching Skill Up’s Death Stranding 2 review and he’s very disappointed. He explained what he appreciated about the first game and then basically explained how 2 does away with it or has drastically casualised the hell out of it. Based on what he said I can see where he’s coming from.
Well, you see, this is just evidence of Sony’s keen eye for quality videogames and incredible studio management capability. Clearly if a studio was closed it was because they simply coulnd’t meet Sony’s exacting stadards and exceedingly high quality requirements.
We shall see, but i have some doubts in regards to the way third party is done right now.
That’s not including games thay are building via partnership with independent studios while having a solid lineup of multiplat and exclusive games.
Speaking of which, am i the only one who wishes for a partner showcase for this period? Or to we only get a here and there at gamescom and tokyo game show.
Kind of feels like Nintendo limited who would get a switch 2 dev kit, even in larger publishers with multiple studios. So, maybe only certain teams recieved an early dev kit and the teams haven’t announced anything maybe be a little behind.
That or Nintendo is creating artificial scarcity, to give their own games a bit of time without a lot of competition.
