What I’ve always wanted was a big open world game in that universe. A game like Skyrim if you will. But with the beautiful locations from the three movies, yes absolutely. I recently rewatched the trilogy and when I saw Rivendell for example I could fully picture myself exploring that in a game.
I have yet to fully play Shadow of War. I don’t even have Mordor, should I? But the idea of Warhorse with their knowledge and skill making a big LOTR open world game is music to my ears. It doesn’t necessarily have to be ultra realistic like KCD though.
Can’t recommend both of the Shadow games enough. They’re fantastic open world action RPGs. If you like Arkham/Insomniac Spiderman/Old School AC combat then you’re in for a treat. The game is just a lot of fun with crazy skills and fun mechanics. They turn up the fantasy setting to 11 and throw in a dash of someone’s fan fiction and it’s awesome. Shadow of War in particular has a great map. I think you’d really enjoy exploring it. Though it’s not like Skyrim in that sense, there are reasons to ramaMin You can ride on a Drake and fly over it too. Minas Ithil/Morgul is especially stunning.
I just checked and to my big surprise it says “owned” on Xbox itself for Mordor. Well let’s fucking go! I forgot I actually bought this at some point. Yeesh.
Just noticed that they already added Stranger than Heaven to the Game Pass section as in that it’s coming. More and more am I starting to believe it will release this year.
Or do they always do this, even for games that are a year away or more? Never really paid attention to that.
Feels a little too game pass focused. Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth has been play anywhere since it launched over a year ago. So has Pirates Yakuza and Man who erased his name. I worry about the graphic (because who clicks links) giving the idea that these games only do XPA when there’s a GP deal or something. It’d be cooler if these were all the games from the Partner Preview or actual new releases. This graphic fits better as “Look at all the great games that joined Game Pass AND are Xbox Play Anywhere, so tiers with the game can play across PC, Console, and Cloud.”
Yeah, I’ve decided against it. On one hand i’m like…nice, I can juggle between this and Witcher 3, but from experience I know it won’t go like that and I’ll be playing W3 instead and it’ll turn out I only bought it because of the discount. Summer Sale it is!
I bought it as I had €40 in vouchers earned from MS Rewards, so no cost to me. Played up to chapter 3 and loving it so far, but time to get back to the backlog!
