9000 replies. Is there a celebration when there’s 10,000?

Anyway, okay, somehow I didn’t know what I was talking about and am still right in Xbox player voice forums being weird. HR claims shouldn’t be made in a feedback forum and there shouldn’t be a campaign to vote for it. That’s an issue between you and the company that should be resolved as such.

Yep exactly, it feels like a grievance he should pursue legally and leave gamers out of it

Alternatively, Xbox could be the adults in the room and make Sony look like they children they are. They should’ve tweeted, “XBOX is not beholden to what its competitors choose to do and will always do what best benefits gamers, developers, and games.”

Control Resonant is still launching Xbox Play Anywhere & Handheld Optimized, so that’s a yipee. All this really means is that there’s is absolutely no reason to pre-order the game on any platform other than PS. That’s a pretty dumb move on Remedy. I hope Sony paid them enough to make up for lost day one/pre-order sales. It also pressures the game to be really good because non PS gamers will have a lot of footage and reviews to go off of when they do buy it.

I’ll say this feels like Playstation desperately clinging to third party relevance. Third parties don’t want to take actual exclusivity deals anymore, Sony refuses to do major AAA day one games for PS Plus, and the competition (Xbox and Steam) offer free cloud saves or Xbox Play Anywhere cross entitlement. They’re running out of rabbits to pull out of their magicians hat to force people onto their platform that objectively offers worse value for third party games. Paying for an “exclusive” early access just seems sad though. 48 hours of FOMO isn’t pushing any console sales. Maybe someone who owns multiple platforms chooses to buy it in PS5, but even then why choose PS5 if you have access to Steam with free cloud saves & PC having better hardware or Xbox with free cloud saves and the game being Xbox Play Anywhere (PC cross entitlement) and handheld optimized and probably cloud gaming on or near launch. You also always have those benefits on Xbox and Steam and Epic Games store, so you could wait for a sale. The 48 hours of early access (not even that long) is only beneficial if you pre order.

Curious to see where Sony is by the time the PS6 is launching. If we’re going with the exclusives belief and Xbox’s problem is not having exclusives because they’re porting them, then Playstation’s problem is not having exclusives because they just don’t have a good first party output and third parties are abandoning their deals that crater sales. What actual reason will there be to buy a PS6 if prices keep rising or even stay as they currently are? Like oooo, I’m going to buy a PS6 for $800 because sometimes they have exclusive two day early access when you pre-order the most expensive version of a game.

Is Until Dawn a Sony owned IP? Because that would explain why 2 isn’t coming to Xbox. Doesn’t matter all that much to me personally, because honestly as soon as that trailer started yesterday I wanted all those characters dead. Ngl, lol.

Sadly the dino horror game isn’t coming to Xbox either, and Silent Hill neither but that’s not exactly new news. Both sides do this and I’m sure Xbox will have a few reveals that will be first for Xbox and no word about PS5. Honestly just wish this shit would end, but yeah.

Yes, they own Until Dawn and that is a big reason why Supermassive left to work on other games.

Low key: I wish Xbox Showcase was live in person like old E3 with Asha or Matt being aggressively competitive and Gears E-Day being demoed real time with them saying, “Uninterrupted ACTUAL gameplay.” Looking back at last year’s SGF, that Mario Kart jab was pretty funny. I do miss “F U” attitude, I won’t lie.

But it is funny though. When you look back at Halo Infinite 2020 gameplay, despite the fidelity not ready, at least it was mostly gameplay, not Master Chief witnessing the planet with daze and can’t move until it goes back to first person. I miss those days.

What an odd post to make…

I actually liked The Laufey game would have loved for Hell Blade to be something similar.

This was quite funny. It honestly made me wonder is 2 days early access all Sony can afford, that would be quite laughable.

Sony is pretty smart in doing this. We recently learned little, tiny things like this are huge wins for the hardcore. Asha got a few dashboard updates through and somehow xbox is now on track to take over the industry. PS gets two days of exclusivity and their hardcore base prob feels pretty good.

Small investments for large returns in both cases. Just think about the cost difference between moneyhatting a year of exclusivity vs 2 days. But the result is still likely positive.

By me or that tweet? Because it’s all in good fun for me. Just some harmless humour.

In the UK, PS5 sales fell 50% in May. It only outsold Xbox Series S/X by 400 units (which saw a 12% rise, helped by console exclusive Forza Horizon 6). Switch 2 was easily No.1 (NielsenIQ). There will be more in today's The Game Business Show/Newsletter https://t.co/BVxmMuHZBh

Boy, I can’t wait for spam in player’s voice on how right they are about exclusive.

Now imagine how much better the numbers would be for years now if their messaging on exclusivity had been clear for years and no one was expecting their games on PlayStation.

Clearly this is fake news. I was told that exclusives have never benefitted xbox in any way shape or form!

Finally! No need to use publish site!

Oh and this game is finally releasing on Switch 2.

Too many confounding variables. PS is increasing prices while Xbox is doing just for you deals. Sure FH6 isn’t on PS, but also Playstation doesn’t have any stellar first party coming at all. Is it exclusives or day one game pass? Regardless even with nothing Playstation is still doing what it always has and outselling Xbox overall. Xbox has an up month in May when Forza is out and PS has a done month when there’s not really any other big games right now (that are popular with casuals) first or third party. Also a 12% rise vs Xbox vs a 50% drop for PS is a pretty substantial difference. A little concerning in general, but that’s just hardware right now I guess. I imagine things will pick back up late summer and fall once those gazillion September releases drop, COD, and then finally GTA VI. Ahead of that PS will have Wolverine and Xbox Gears, so things should pick up for both ahead of the holiday season.

Also Forza Horizon 6 isn’t exclusive. It was already announced to be on PS5 this year. Based on those numbers I don’t think people are switching or anything. Forza is helping Xbox because it’s an excellent first party game that released on the platform which all gamers can enjoy. GTA VI will do the same and it has a simultaneous multiplatform launch. Also curious about the data of how people tie a specific game to boosting sales and to what extent they can attribute an increase to that. During the Xbox ABK aquistion case they had testimony that used telemetry data from Xbox and Playstation to show the impact of certain games. But under normal circumstances I don’t think Xbox or Playstation would give that data away to third parties.

It’s very, very unlikely that 12% rise came from PlayStation players, as yes it’s coming to PS5 soon.

Instead that rise is most likely due to it being the first FH game not on Xbox One - I know my mate is one of the UK sales as this finally pushed him to upgrade

A lot of that should happen this year. COD is also finally not on Xbox One. GTA VI will be coming. Oh god the irony that Xbox Helix is supposed to launch next year.
