If they ever wanted to do a Psychonauts 3 or something of that scale they probably won’t be able to anymore now. It took them incredibly long to make P2, they likely don’t want to take on such an adventure anytime soon if ever again.
In my opinion it would be best if they inked a deal with Netflix for a Psychonauts series. Pending that I would say if they could get a really good cool platformer or Metroid Vania game. Tim seems more like he would have retired but probably for the team wants the studio to go on. I would have loved it if they could have taken on the Blinx IP and rebirthed it with their own ideas and art.

I have wild ideas, like release Psychonauts 2 on Switch 2, fix HDR, make it some kind of Director’s Cut with cut levels or ideas. It doesn’t even have a proper PS5 version. Seems like a no brainer (no pun intended).
Or remake and rework Psychonauts 1!
Those aren’t bad ideas at all.
But fix HDR? I haven’t noticed much issues with it myself. Which I’m glad about because I dislike how hit or miss HDR still is in gaming.
I’m not sure it would do much. The best parts of Psychonauts 2 are not the beginning. Some of the experience in the middle are mind boggling. Tim really does need to do animated movies or series.

I disagree. Psychonauts 2 on Switch 2 ? I bet it will do numbers, it’s so Nintendo coded.
But yeah, it looks like early 2000s saturday morning cartoon already.
I don’t see the Nintendo coding on it, the Tim burton art style is somewhat scary and not kiddie like, the idea of the game I would agree is Nintendo like. I would say if Nintendo helped develop the game, they would have made changes like in the art direction and tightening the gameplay.
They had to do a Kickstarter for Psychonauts 2 and that never even made enough to finish the game as Xbox had to fund the rest. I’d be surprised if they self fund and publish something like Psychonauts 3. Maybe if they get a deal.

Luigi’s Mansion, Zelda Majora’s Mask, Splatoon ? Nintendo have some weird and dark games. Psychonauts 2 isn’t even that dark, it’s just weird like Mario is weird when you think about it.
I would buy Psychonauts 2 on Switch 2 in an instant, just saying.
