Kidding aside, I don’t want to rag on them too much but they’ve often ended E3s with a collage that summarizes the event and what was shown but with a generic song. In those cases using game music would make a lot of sense.

That’s exactly what Xbox Era did here, they used a powerful song from one of Bethesda’s games and it just worked perfectly.
