I think Jez can be a bit malicious with his posts. I remember him being very mad about the Obsidian crew at gamescom avoiding him due to his leaks and him ranting about how they should be happy he didnāt leak the videos.

He said a few years back that FF XIV would come to Xbox. It was before Square started their FF exclusivity shenanigans with Sony.

I liked making posts on here teasing him about it (not like he ever sees them lol) about seemingly jumping too early at it, I mean he always got pressured about it on TGS interviews. Though I never would say he was lying about it.

Not the one i want or care about. Donāt got time for 1000 plus hours MMO. I will check it out but will drop it after 2-3 hours. Backlog is still huge so canāt invest hundreds to thousand of hours into MMO.

Itās rather funny on how I found out the news. I was in subway traveling back home, so I couldnāt watch the stream. My lady was since she does play the game and highlighted many things that was announced. She then go, āHm? Phil Spencer? Head of Xbox?ā I was in complete denial, ironically similar to when they announced FFXIII back in 360 days. If Phil is there, thereās no way he will be there without any Xbox related. Sure enough, she sent a picture of confirmation and self contained my excitement in the train. Wasnāt easy. Lol.

Thereās a vast difference between what they perceived was said and what was actually said. Itās a matter of comprehension and understanding the discussions. No one said that Xbox should interfere and sabotage Square Enix Games and force them into bankruptcy.
Many expressed that Xbox should not artificially prop up Square Enix by giving them obscene money for ports, that Xbox should let the Square Enix games fail on their own horrible business decisions from lack of consumer reach by only releasing on a single platform, and then picking the bones of Square Enix at the inevitable bankruptcy fire sales.

Yeah, outside of deranged Playstation fans, I donāt get why some people donāt like him as much as they do. The guy seems genuine in an industry full of bullshit artists and the work he did to literally save Xbox and the work he continues to do to keep it a platform that will hopefully exist far into the future cannot be overstated.

Phil really is Xboxās secret weapon. āPhil the Conquerorā would be a silly fun nickname Iāll throw into the hat full of already great nicknames people have given him.
But in all seriousness, he is just an irreplaceable talent. Xbox is lucky to have him for conferences, podcasts, court appearances, public appearances, tv interviewsā¦ you name it, Phil is the best in the biz.
