Surprised that they still haven’t covered LEGO.
I just dont understand square honestly. Seems like they only care about 2-3 projects within the company.
So does this mean that the PS1 is more powerful than the PS5
?
Fair to say that the budget for this was loooowwwww.
Their best products come out of their Western Studios and Publishing deals from other developers.
Also FF. Though even their publishing deals are not that great (I don’t remember any though)
I disagree. They haven’t had meaningful FF title in ages. Its purely nostalgia feels for how FF is so highly regarded. Its entirely unwarranted in my opinion. They don’t produce anything of quality outside what I outlined.
FF14 is good and FF7R seems to be good (though for some reason they are really slow with the development). FF16 is hard to say.
At this point somebody has to save games from Square Enix
I am personally not sure what is going on in their management considering how much junk they are greenlighting.
Would have loved even a single line like “The Xbox version fares the same.” Pretty annoying, but what can you do? Pretty lame job by S-E, I’d be disappointed if I liked this game at all. Just bought it to support JRPGs on Xbox ![]()
Edit: Was unclear, I was referring to the article here.
same reason why they still didn’t bother to cover Psychonaut 2 until today.
They just want to enjoy it instead of making it part of their job?
That could be it. But I think it’s next week then.
you would think after all these nominations and awards for the game, they would’ve give a damn. but nop.
and i bought it for Xbox
should have just used retroarch, sigh.
Long story short…
Visuals wise it’s identical to XSX. Performance wise they trade blows. In one area XSX bogs down a little, and in that same area PS5 remains smooth. In another area XSX comes out on top while PS5 bogs down.
Loading times:
PS5: 42.9 seconds
XSX : 38 seconds
And yeah, there’s the last gen…watch the video. ![]()
X tops out at 4k, PS5 at 1800p. Need VG tech to get typical resolutions.
Oooh, interesting, the DF guy didn’t mention that. He did show PS5 is 1800p but no mention that X tops out at 4K.
So in more ways than one X leads here.
It’s not really identical native 4k on SX versus dynamic 1800p on ps5 is basically the same diff as last gen. With better framerate and lower loading times to boot on SX
Yeah, sloppy that the guy didn’t mention this at all about Xbox.
On double check, series X was also 1800p typically. We’ll have to wait for vg tech to confirm.
Honestly it was surprising to see 4k vs 1800p lead for the X given that it’s a cross gen indie title, especially since they devs had many more months to optimize for the PS5.
PS5 power consumption goes to 220, Series X tops out around 180 usually. Needless to say that X hasn’t been properly utilized yet.
