Wow, PS5 Pro is worse than base PS5 in framerate AND resolution ?
749 USD!!! RIIIIIIIIIDGE RAAAACEER!

I really wish we lived in the generation where the PS5 Pro dropped in at $500 and the base PS5 dropped down to $400 ![]()
They’re going to blame Xbox for the developers did work on Oblivion.
Definitely Series S fault
,![]()
well then i just play the HD collection - 720p@60fps, 16x anisotropic texture filtering and even 2xMSAA ![]()
How does it run on Xbox? MGS3 is the only game in that series that I actually like.
DF didn’t have that version just yet but they do say they tested it at GC I believe and it suffered similar framerate issues.
Not sure, but there’s been quite a few UE5 engine games that have performed better on Xbox consoles than PS.
About the Switch 2, FF7 is running pretty well, John Linneman thinks that it’s the best-looking Switch 2 game. Elden Ring is not running to well on the Switch 2 from what John can tell, neither he nor Alex think that Elden Ring running the way it does because of how it looks is justified, but I also remember a video from them mentioning that Elden Ring loads in the entire map. So, I don’t think the reason has anything to do with how the game looks but how much is being loaded.
They have had talks with devs, that say that they’re still trying to get Switch 2 dev kits and that Nintendo have told some of them to make a Switch 1 version to run through BC (Ninja Gaiden Rage Bound being an example).
Second topic is about this blog post by Microsoft about a new Shader Delivery system for Windows. Introducing Advanced Shader Delivery - DirectX Developer Blog
Alex wants/plans to do a full interview with the Micrsoft devs to have a chance to ask more questions.
A bit on the Switch 2 situation:
John: “Nintendo seems to be almost discouraging Switch 2 development to some degree, where I’ve spoken with plenty of developers where they were either told that their game.. they should just ship it on Switch 1 and rely on backwards compatibility. There’s a lot of developers that are unable to get Switch 2 dev kits. We talked to a lot of devs at Gamescom this year and so many of them said the same things. They want to ship on Switch 2. They would love to do Switch 2 versions. They can’t get the hardware. It’s really difficult right now.”
Oliver: “I don’t really understand the strategy because like you said, even now developers are struggling to get systems. And I know that some months ago when we’re, you know, hearing things through the grapevine and talking to people, there were some weird exclusions with some big developers struggling to get kits for games, from what we’ve heard. And there were some weird inclusions as well, like some indies were included which is nice to see but like there’s that campfire game you know the kind of camera campfire game and they’re getting kits and some big developers on the other hand who developed like AAA stuff aren’t necessarily in the pipeline there for kits.”
Like I said months ago, the most bungled, tepid launch Nintendo has ever had. The amount of corporate boot licking in most reporting on the subject is insane.
Nintendo is, without a doubt, the shittiest company of the big three. Its not even close.
And I say that as someone who is a lifelong nintendo fan due to nostaligia and oldness.
If I only had a Switch 2, no other consoles and were hoping to get lots of games I missed out on…the level of disappointment would be huge as hell. What the fuck is this man.
Nate has spoken up and said that the lack of dev kits is true. But things are improving, but it’s not quite what it should be.
I read in a summary that VRR doesn’t work properly on XSX now and DF thinks that’s a bug. And I mean,… of course that’s a bug, normally with any other game VRR works great for X.
