So you’re not using all the features of the XSX? Well…
VRR is the best feature of the new Xbox. Black Ops Cold War is insane in 120fps
Apologies. My comment wasn’t directed at you or anyone for that matter.
No worries, I think I went too far on this as well. I Let a bit of my disappointment on this subject to take over. Time to move on, it is not a big deal after all.
It’s all good. Disappointed or not, it’s not like we can solve these issues. Just have to be patient and hope it all gets solved which I believe it will.
I would recommend contacting Ubisoft support for the screen tearing issues and im pretty sure they have an upcoming patch but I don’t know if it’s going to solve the screen tearing issues.
Found it. Sadly, no update on the screen tearing issues but compared to other issues listed, I can see why it’s not a top priority as of now.
Since Hitman is not a next gen only game, it’ll still be a XDK game?
Probably not
I hope you play a lot last gen stuff and 360 games ![]()
So it will likely be on the new one? That should be a good test to see how things look now. Ideally things have picked up significantly, but we know the tools were very late so I have no idea how fast devs will get used to it.
In fairness, that isnt a feature that is mainstream enough at the moment on TV’s. Even the ones that do have it are still ironing out HDMI 2.1 quirks. Devs should be providing a locked 60fps regardless imo. Sure VRR 120hz option as a bonus, fine. But lets not forget where display tech is at present for the over whelming user base majority. I will not be happy if devs blort out software with hitches and stuttering at 60fps, for them to simply turn around and say “best just buy a new VRR TV if you no likey”.
Unless differences are more then 10 fps or 10-20% resolution difference comparing these two is worthless.
Both are equal.
Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 games are 100% officially done. The 40 games that I completed from that generation will not increase to 41. LMAO.
For the PlayStation 4/Xbox One generation, I have a few games that I could play if I have nothing new for Xbox Series X/PlayStation 5 but other than those few games, there’s nothing for me.
2021 and beyond is all about Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Let’s go!!!
The difference between these two consoles is so small it does not bother me, what does bother me is that I dont understand why.
PS5 uses a dynamic resolution with the highest resolution found being 3840x2160 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 3328x1872.
Xbox Series X uses a dynamic resolution with the highest resolution found being 3840x2160 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 3584x2016.
The resolution seems to very rarely drop below 3840x2160 on PS5 and Xbox Series X. The only resolution found on PS5 and Xbox Series X during the scenes capped at 30fps was 3840x2160.
During gameplay the Xbox Series S uses a dynamic resolution with the highest resolution found being approximately 2688x1512 and the lowest resolution found being 1920x1080. Pixel counts at 1920x1080 are very rare on Xbox Series S.
Looks like the series X is performing better considering its lowest dynamic resolution is higher.
Thought this is interesting. I think no game is even using version 2 before this update… So gdk updates are coming.
Both the Jedi Fallen Order and the Mortal Kombat 11 next-gen SKUs (both came out today) perform better on Series X than on PS5. Again, the initial issues were probably caused because of the transition to GDK, the delay on the sending of dev-kits and waiting for AMD to have full RDNA2 capabilities.
Fallen Order is a back compat game, so no surprise that Series X performs better.
No, but it’s a new SKU now. Same with Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion or other games. It’s optimized for next-gen.
Good stuff right there. Do we know if it is already on Gear 5 or it will need an new update?
Will be an update, to gears tactics to change from tier 1 to 2 and to gears to enable VRS at tier 2.
Dev blog doesn’t mentions this at all.
Interestingly it does say that engines developed with tier 2 VRS in mind would achieve even higher performance gains than the 14% seen with this activity. Guess that full RDNA 2 was worth waiting for now devs can get to grips with its features.
