Another reason why these kind of leaks are eventually not a good thing…
In the clips we can see the guy going prone and crawling. Could be a cut scene animation but could also actually be a player ability. Now many fans will fully expect this to be a feature. But once the game comes out and it’s not there they will bitch and moan, because for reasons the dev decided to leave the feature out. This stuff was not meant to be seen.
They have 2 enourmous studios with support studios as well. RDR and GTA were always developed alongside each other however yeah most resources went into each game when the other was finsihed…so after gtav most of all rockstar studios would have been working on RDR2 but gta6 must have been in development for a good 3 to 4 years now and after RDR2…they must have put everything on gta6. Im sorry but you dont have studios of 1000+ people and work on shitty online content for gta5.

After this situation I see a delay. Probably 2024 or 2025 now thanks to the hack.

The fact Rockstar only started production of GTA6 2 years ago is frankly a scandal. We are talking about entertainments biggest property. I actually think it’s you guys who don’t grasp the level of incompetence at play because to some of you guys GTA6 is just another game. It’s the long awaited sequel to the greatest game of all time. It’s way over due.
To answer my own question about when this comes out. 2027. Absolutely unacceptable.
But how is this place making excuses for Rockstar like you’re saying? No one has denied Rockstar are grossly inefficient and slow at development, It was discussed in the acquisition thread too regarding T2. I’m not sure why you’re accusing XboxEra of making excuses for Rockstar. I have taken a look above and I don’t see discourse on what you’re talking about. It seems you want to divegre the discussion from being about the leaks and developers being screwed over to being about the slow and inefficient development pipeline of Rockstar.

At the end of the day the details are of little significance. The outcome is what matters, as in what year is this game coming out? 2027 is everything I need to know about it’s poor development timeline.
Correct. I looked at the discourse and it was clear everyone was missing the big story. Burying the lead about how this game is way behind the schedule I would expect. Millions have been waiting for this game. To gaming forum users there is too much excuse making. I’m not down with “games take time” excuse… game should’ve been out by now.
Why are you so over dramatic about this?
GTA5 is just another example how many ressources a modern GaaS needs.

Erm, in the first place Rockstar has no obligation to develop GTA6 at all. They can decide any moment that GTA5 is the last game and online DLCs are the way forward for them.
GTA Online requires a lot of resources.
2013 to 2027 is a long time. I suppose after GTA6 it will be time to let go since on these time scales I could be dead by GTA7. Too dramatic 
You are right. Nevertheless doesn’t mean I can’t bitch about that and I also reserve the right to tell Rockstar to get off my lawn.I like the way things used to be with GTA as a single player game.
I agree with you, but WE are not making the games. Even if people are screaming to them to hurry, that’s on them to do the work. And really, that leak doesn’t help at all…

Waiting until DX12U and PS5 hardware specs came out makes all the sense in the world.
It would have been a travesty if they started sooner and made it for last gen consoles. That would effectively mean very little technological progress since GTA IV.
I think most gamers would prefer a fully next gen GTA 6 released in another 2-3 years than something that looks and feels like an expansion to GTA 5 in 1 year.
Im just saying they only have themselves to blame. Gta 6 should have been out by now and started development long ago. The hack is unfortunate.
