Horizon Forbidden West Gameplay Reveal

Looked okay to me. Like more of Horizon 1 (which I’ve admittedly only played a few hours of). Nothing that made my jaw drop or anything like that, but I’ll pick this up eventually whenever I get around to finishing the first one.

Looks like more Horizon. Which is all I can ask for. Hard to really judge fidelity on shit quality YouTube stream.

I dont know about that. I mean weather its a good showing or not really depends on the game. I wouldn’t say this showing of heavy action gameplay combined with cutscenes is any better then just showing straight up gameplay like they did with TLOU2.

Halo infinite got criticised because the visuals had issues and the gameplay was a tad bland in areas or at least to similer to prior halo titles.

The real question that needs answering is how many of you have taken a screen shot and zoomed in to inspect the quality of textures and character models? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Looks great as expected but no footprints while in the sand and some other issues tells me this is early 2022. Gameplay and combat looks better than the first game as there seems to be many more options. Machines look amazing and the world itself looks beautiful. Aloy needs some more textures or something on her face because it looks similar to the first game which shouldn’t be the case. Either way, it’s day one.

Woo, they posted the 4K video now, much more impressive.

I recommend you to watch the pre-recorded 4K video.

We should take a screenshot and zoom in 200%. Then we should say something like “omg look at these textures”

In 4K.

That’s the plan. I watched the stream on my phone. I’ll have to watch it on my TV when I get home.

2022, if this was a 2021 release, Sony would’ve put at least a Holiday 2021 date at the end.

This is what I was thinking. 2022 is my guess as well.

Never doubted Guerilla when it came to crafting a stunning showcase, absolute technical wizards. The game looks great, although the gameplay is more of an evolution than a revolution if I had to put it that way, either way guess we shall learn more over the coming months.

Development is on track so does that mean 2021?

This is so much better. This looks stunning. Can’t wait

I have no idea what they were thinking with that 5 hour pre-stream but at least the game looks great!

It looks like exactly what I had hoped for. An iteration on everything that Horizon Zero Dawn achieved, with improvements where they were obviously needed. I’m talking about things like more melee combat options & free climbing. Little things like that will make a big difference. Was happy to hear that there will be an expanded upgrade system as well. Hopefully a good bit of crafting will be possible.

Looked absolutely gorgeous but that was almost a given. The first game had incredible visual style & I never thought Guerrilla would drop the ball there.

No release date though. I guess covid strikes again.

I still think it is a bit up in the air. If it is a definite 2022 title, Sony would have put it at the end. This game is obviously the big title for the end of this year and I think Sony is trying everything to get the game out for this year.

After looking the 4K gameplay, the character model looks great, but I was a bit less impressed by some other stuff. Great vegetation density, but a lack of physic on some stuffs. Gameplay wise, it is a bit like the first one but a bit more. Looks great, but not really to the level of the in-engine trailer ( which was expected ).
