I’m sure something like that is possible, the question is whether or not it’s worth it to MS
MS had already patented some sort of disc reader thing a few years back that according to it would enable you to play disc based games on digital systems so it’s at least something they’ve thought about
If their next system was the all digital Series X, I think an optional add on that can play physical discs would be a smart option to have
