MS needs to keep Zenimax exclusive

Yeah, I’ve been saying much the same; if the game is already on multiplatforms in a fully-released state like 76 and ESO, they will not pull from those platforms. Same with the two timed exclusives for PS5, but just like NT, Obsidian, and pretty much all the other studios, their new titles will be exclusive to the Xbox ecosystem. I feel like anyone arguing otherwise is using flawed financial theories and ignoring the numerous examples of precedence we already have. If there was another console that received any additional titles, I’d wager Switch would be a candidate (especially if the Switch Pro rumors finally come true).

If the aim is to drive gamepass why would you release it where there is no gamepass?

I’ve said this in one of the other threads too, I think Starfield will be where they test the waters. They probably already know it’s gonna do great because BGS games always do (except Fallout 76) great, but not releasing on PS platforms is somenting that is new for their games.

If it does amazingly well for GP they’ll probably just keep it all to their ecosystem or maybe release it on PS5 later and get money from those copies as well. But this is why I definitely don’t think it will be day one for all (if that even happens).

So people hoping for multiplatform release have to prepare for the possibility of MS not giving much clarity anytime soon on that, even after launch of the game. But for all we know Phil in one of the future interviews or during E3 confirms which games stay exclusive and which don’t.

I honestly find the whole topic silly. Had Sony acquired majority of people would have accepted it and none of these questions, no way. Exclusives is what drives people to your platform and/or service.

Yeah he kinda turned my mind around on what the end game is with gamepass and x cloud.

Btw, I’ve seen some false information going around that Starfield had the PlayStation logo on the website. It never did.

It was likely going to come to PlayStation before this acquisition, hell Sony was trying to moneyhay it, but they never explicitly confirmed it. This is where we get into the implicit confirmation area that games like Ghostwire, Deathloop and Rise of the Tomb Raider wherein no systems were announced but people assumed a full multiplatform release. I think we all know which one had more blowback, but Sony was able to use this out for Deathloop and Ghostwire. Don’t be suprised if MS uses it too.

They should at least keep first party studios off of competitor’s cloud streaming service.
