New Final Fantasy game timed exclusive to PS5

Well and Xbox is guaranteed to have all big WRPGS. Thats how it is.

XIII-2 is a lot easier and more open but the story kinda sucks with the whole time travel thing. The good things are in combat that everytime there’s a paradigm shift change you don’t have to see the animation change, also when the party leader dies there’s no game over so you can play as the other character. You can also have monsters in your party but I never used them much tbh. The only thing I don’t like is that buff and debuffs don’t last as much as FFXIII. I struggled a lot during the final boss in the game and died SO many times, funnily enough FFXIII was super easy towards the end and I didn’t even die. Mind you, I was also grinding a lot during Gran Pulse.

Lightning Returns is very different, it has a time limit so you have to be careful. So each day it’s best to do as much of the main story to gain extra days. If you set it to easy mode you don’t have to worry about time passing during combat. Plus you can use chronostasis to freeze time for a small period, but that uses EP which you can gain from battles. Funnily enough when I did pretty much everything before the final boss I had plenty of days off so it’s not that bad if you plan everything. It’s also recommended to do as many side quests as possible because it’s the best way to get stronger. Combat is completely different in the game, basically you change outfits which change the style of fighting. If you wanna get OP you can get the Yuna Summoner Garb (which is DLC) and use the Deshell, Imperil and Elementa skills. The game is the most open but unfortunately the graphics are the worst in the trilogy due to this. I really liked the tone of the game during the beginning but towards the end I just wanted to finish it, still had fun though.

Yeah, the unfortunate reality of needing to be a multi console owner if you love both types.

I’m kinda curious what Microsoft’s team in Japan looks like at the moment tbh, because while I think going after the big games is important, I also think the smaller stuff is just as important, and I think in the case of the likes of Gust and Falcom, I actually think what Microsoft is doing is very appealing. Both companies have an immense library of titles, and honestly both could use cash infusions, so a gamepass deal with them feels like a no brainer.

Honestly with Falcom putting it’s games on Stadia and Luna, I kinda feel like Xbox is only a matter of time, but we’ll see.

Yes you cant have all. I for one do enjoy JRPGS more. but more so the bigger games outside of Final Fantasy any recent JRPG came for xbox in my case. I will buy PS5 for Final Fantasy and probably wait for a special PS5 eddition :yum:

I can actually see trails happening. They’ve been getting a dedicated PC following in the west and nothing is necessarily stopping them from porting the games to Xbox.

FWIW, the rumors are this game isnt a JRPG but a Souls-like game. At least that’s what I read on the other forum. Think they mentioned Team Ninja being involved

Thats it lol

I think xbox fans just have to live with the fact that if you like JRPGs then you will also have to get a PS5 because even the switch misses out on some. Likewise, if you like WRPGs then you may have to buy a Xbox Series X/S if you’re a playstation gamer since they will miss out on some heavy hitters

This is the reason I caved for the PS5. That, and R&C looks amazing less than a year into the generation. Sony will continue to pump out the blockbuster titles. Ugly, ugly machine though

Horrid machine. I got it hidden for a reason lol.

BTW: You have a sticker on your SeriesX.

Put the one from my xbox one x before trading it in there cause its the only way to make the console look pristine.

Very interested now in seeing what this game is. I loved Nioh and am intrigued to see what they do with the world of Final Fantasy.

I purchased a PS5 mainly for Sony’s published exclusives but if I get other exclusives, it’s just a bonus. The only true JRPG that im interested in is Granblue Fantasy Relink which will have a PS5 version.

Definitely an ugly console but it’s okay. I get the midnight black controller with Ratchet and all I need is black cover plates from Sony and problem solved. Solid black will make the PS5 look so much better.

Hahaha. You and Anonymous need to get a black trash bag and just cover it which due to the stand underneath the console should be doable. lmao.

Its pretty much how Sony has always operated. Going back to Tomb Raider on the PS1. My issue is how gamers and the media react when MS does the same thing. Like the mass Sperg out over Rise of the Tomb Raider.( even though MS apparently funded development on that game)

Even now they were pushing the narrative that MS is somehow obligated to put Bethesda games on PS consoles. As the kids say these days " keep that same energy "

I dont know what you guys define as major 3rd party jrpg’s. Over a million players? If 1 million is the requirement then how many jrpg series does Xbox not have?

Yakuza, FF, Dragon Quest, PSO2, Kingdom Hearts, Tales , Persona, Code Vein, Nier. And Judgment if you consider that a jrpg probably crossed 1 million by now as well. Seems like Its all Sega, SE and Namco/Bandai franchises.

Let’s assume Xbox gets Persona too. Then that means Xbox has all of them. Its true We aren’t getting all of them Day 1 yet. But it sure is moving in the right direction IMO.

Well many still see FF as the biggest name in JRPGs, I say “name” because beyond FF 12 that’s all it is. 13 was ok. 14 is an MMO , 15 was awful in nearly every way. Only thing that interests me about 16 is that some devs who worked on Dragon’s Dogma are handling the combat.

Frankly I never thought Xbox would ever get a Dragon Quest game and that happened. If the Persona series ( and maybe even Shin Megami Tensei) hit Gamepass the way Yakuza have that is indeed a great start.

I would like to see Phil and co approach people like Hajime Tabata and JP games and maybe work out deals similar to Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon.

Frankly if MS wants Gamepass to be the ultimate service the whole “if you want this kind of game you have to buy a Switch or PS5” narrative needs to die. Question is if MS is willing to spend the money to make that happen.

Id approve of this. This is what Nintendo does and it works out well for them so why cant Xbox do the same?

Fund a game.
