It’s such a popular feature that no one noticed.
Yeah apparently.
Goes to show that streaming BC might be a nice bonus but nothing beats on-console emulation.
I let our PlayStation Plus subscription lapse in November and my son hasn’t noticed yet. Goes to show how often the PlayStation gets used.
It looks cool. PS5 and PC.
Surprised to hear that you can’t create your own character in Horizon? I figured that the characters in the trailer were supposed to be examples of what you can create, but they’re the preset Heroes. ![]()
Looks cool but not thrilled that it’s a pure co-op game. Doesn’t seem to allow solo/single player gameplay. Was hoping that it would be setup like Division where I can play through the PvE stuff solo. Oh well.
I miss more GaaS games aimed to the “old dicks”, almost everything got that modern and purple look, the fornite effect i guess.
I am playing Valorant a bit lately, i loved Counter Strike but i like that extra personalization the CS Warcraft 3 mod gave you, but pretty much all games look very cartoony nowadays, even Deadlock which comes from the creators of CS (more or less)
Dayz, Path of Exile 2.. have proven more hardcore and.. serious? looking GaaS games can also be pretty succesful and i wish more of these were released ![]()
To be fair, Sony produced a game that should be right up your alley: Helldivers 2 ![]()
I personally feel it fits most of the criteria you’re looking for, and I personally love it, whether playing solo or with a crew.
Still need to post me getting launched by a Charger that came barreling out of white-out blizzard…
Even Jor is not into this at all and he’s a huge Horizon fan. Not to get too precious about the Horizon IP, but it seems like they’re throwing out what existing fans like about the setting and lore in order to chase a younger audience. Not sure that’s going to work out great for them.
Yeah, Jor is a massive Horizon fan. I watched that video yesterday and he even said that he has the comic books that came out for it but he’s not feeling Hunters Gathering at all after playing it. He’s more interested in Steel Frontiers which looks awesome for a mobile game.
I do wonder when Horizon 3 releases though. I was always thinking February 2028 but now, im not so sure and wouldn’t be surprised to see it be a PS6/PS5/PC cross generation game. I love both Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West but im hoping the franchise ends with the third game. In my opinion, franchises should end in a trilogy and the studio move on to a new IP.
PS5 Pro is finally out of beta.
But seriously, this looks like a major upgrade and if it applies retroactively to older games, that’s super cool and I’ve gotta applaud that.
It will, according to the last paragraph, so definitely a good update.
So Konami released a new baseball game this week. “eBaseball: PRO SPIRIT” Of course it’s not on Xbox. So the game is from the longtime Japan exclusive Professional Baseball Spirits series. First western release of the popular Konami baseball game…Free to Play… however this came as a complete surprise to me, you need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play it.
Apparently the whole FTP games have free online is just a myth. Games can choose to ignore it or maybe PlayStation only grants free online to big games like Fortnite and tells niche games to piss off?
I finished Ghost of Tsushima… I take back any skepticism I’ve previously expressed over this game.
It was really stellar. Stands among the best of the Assassin’s Creed series for me.
Yotei had better gameplay and more variety (not surprising for a sequel) but I can see why people prefer Tsushima’s storytelling. I liked Yotei’s story a lot too, but stories about the futility of revenge are well trodden ground for video games, where Tsushima’s theme of how and whether to fight with honor was unique and really compelling.
Awesome game, and now after playing both I’m super curious about where (and when) a third Ghost game might go.
I still have a lot of content in Tsushima to do though including the whole Iki Island DLC!
So PSN is undergoing some sporadic “unintentional” DRM issues where people are required to validate games every 30 days. It is impacting newly purchased PS4 games and some PS5 games?
Either Sony is implementing this now or it was always there and accidentally turned on. I’ve always speculated Sony and MS had the same Xbox One check-in requirements but Sony pulled it after seeing the backlash. That type of thing would have been something publishers came up with/required across the board.
Not a good sign moving forward for next gen.
Usual suspects like “Does It Play” are rushing to put the most positive possible spin on this - It’s unintentional, good guy Sony will fix it soon, don’t worry about it, nothing to see here!
While I think it’s likely true that this is unintentional and probably will eventually be fixed, it’s just telling, as always, which platform gets the benefit of the doubt and which does not. ![]()
That’s just it, unintentional means the system is in place and was accidentally turned on. Either it was there before and turned off or they created it for the future. I know the usual suspects want to dismiss it, but there is no way this system was developed by accident. Ooops I tripped and accidentally inserted DRM into Playstation.

So the change may be real, close enough, welcome back launch Xbox One.
