That is my point. They are in a position to take on more acquisitions as needed. It’s more just the idea that MS would buy EA, Valve, WB and Ubisoft because they could afford them. They could afford them, doesn’t mean they will buy them.
Yeah. Sony Fans really wanted that game to be amazing and convinced themselves it was even though it wasn’t. 
People still try and convince themselves Sony do their own thing, they are not reactionary.

I’m about to trade my X and Pro tomorrow the prices are gonna drop when this is announced. PS5 has to hit a home run this Wednesday. I hope we get something else from the First party - I love MP shooters I want a Sony FPS of sorts that makes me want to play the PS5. At the start of last gen I bought BF4 on both systems and played more on the PS4 but that was to make me justify the buy. Everything else was Xbox all the way. I dont like TLOU tbh or anything first party of Sonys. UC is good but being a big Gears fan the mechanics are poor compared to that. I might sound a very generic gamer but nothing I have seen from sony has got me excited as 3rd party is where I mostly game now.
If Sony moneyhats GTA I think it’s time for Xbox and MS to drop the nice guy act. Treat Sony as an aggressive opponent, use the immense resources of MS and put them towards securing studios, games, deals and other moves. Being nice only gets you so far when others don’t play along.

Oh, i get ya. Yes I agree. I dont think buying large pubs is a good idea for both ms and sony, they want to buy very good small to mid size studios and enable them to flourish. We might see some timed exclusivity like call of duty mp stuff but nothing really Huge. EA Play coming to game pass was pretty huge, I did not expect it at all.

Hopefully Final Fantasy 16 is their big timed exclusive, because Xbox fans lucked out then.

Ok here are my predictions. Best case - Spider-Man, demon souls and little big planet at launch. Ratchet and the car destruction game 2021 q1, gt7 q2 , horizon Q3 with gameplay demos of most of those games. God of war announcement 2022 Finish on the price $499, $399.
Worst case Spider-Man delayed. $549, $499
As for surprise announcements timed exclusives don’t do it for me. I don’t get most games at launch anyway. A new IP would be far more exciting. Announce a new IP with an actual gameplay trailer that shows off the graphical fidelity that Sony studios are capable of next gen and announce that it’s coming next year. Essentially borrow a page from the recent Nintendo playbook. Concept trailers from the distant future like we saw for Pragmata, project Athia , avowed and fable don’t cut it. The paper mario announcement trailer was the best trailer of the year. Do something like that.

But no way this would be announced next week already when that game won’t be seeing the light of day anytime soon, right? On the other hand, the GTA IV expansions were announced before the game was even out at Xbox show.

This goes back a year or longer. I recall a reddit post, or was it pastebin that said GTA 6 would be a launch exclusive and timed ,lol, launch exclusive . That is the only rumor I know about. Perhaps other sources have started parroting this rumor .
Honestly it is most likey another fanboi-dream-thing which has gotten its own life at this point.
A logo reveal, the word exclusive and a year (even if it’s 2022 or 2023) would be enough to put this across, and doing it before pre-orders open makes a hell of a lot of sense.

I think if they go 499/399, Jimbo will be like “we at playstation brings you a full next gen experience with nothing holding the next generation on of games back” They have done digs at Microsoft in the past, I would not be surprised if they do it again. The funny thing is, its not that sony disagree with the xbox strategy, its just they are behind on it. So they are trying sell the narrative that they are the ones who are offering a true and traditional next gen leap. I do hope Ms continue to counter this argument because it is false.
