With the rumors that Sony is going to snag up studios this year what are some of the candidates?
I think the obvious ones are Housemarquee, Bluepoint and Kojima but this doesnt really change much Id say aside from bringing them into the “family”.
now that they’re strengthening their ties with Kadokawa, Fromsoft doesn’t need an acquisition, I hope at least lol. Outside that, I think only Bluepoint fits the bill.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Sony acquire Square Enix at some point.
It’s not rumours, Sony attempted to acquire Leyou but was beaten by Tencent. It is a fact that Sony is actively looking for studios, as most publishers are.
I think Sony is on the lookout for studios that are involved live service type games, hence why they wanted Leyou for Warframe, because it is an area that Sony is lacking atm.

I don’t think Sony is going to acquire Kojima, dude is waaaaay more trouble than he’s worth. They may partner with him for another game but they’re not going to give him another Death Stranding level budget.
agreed but its Kojima and his name carries weight irrelevant of how one might feel about his games.
After how bad Death Stranding flopped, its more like Kojima and his name carry a stench and bad stigma now
Nobody is gonna remember Death Stranding when Kojima starts dropping trailer and batshit insane stuff for his next game.
Kojima one of the closest thing to a cult developer there is lol.
Just snagged a PlayStation 5 bundle from GameStop!!! Will be playing Spider Man: Miles Morales as the first game for the console. Hyped!!!

Japan Studio has been releasing…“not so great” games for a while now, and they were also commercial failures.
I guess for Sony moneyhatting Japanese 3rd parties is way more effective.
