Resetting XBOX - XBOX Wire

Not a particular fan of UL but I’m really glad to see that each of these studios is finding a new home rather than just ceasing to exist.

This one is dumb. They have been one of the most productive studios .

Avowed and TOW weren’t runaway hits, but it wasn’t because the games weren’t good or the studio was lacking, the IP just didn’t necessarily have wide appeal. Putting them on the Fallout IP seems like the most obvious solution there could ever be.

Starfield indeed isn’t mentioned, leaving the future of it in terms of sequels up in the air. But yeah, let’s first get to TES VI and then Fallout 5.

Where are they going to find another 1600 to layoff in the next wave without completely closing some of those studios?

Buying Bethesda and not cranking out Fallout games is one of the weirdest things ever.

Unless you see an actual reporter say it, don’t buy a ton into random industry people doing twitter posts on “I’m hearing”.

It almost sounds like the first batch of layoff is happening today and supposedly tomorrow is when the remaining devs will get another memo so to say on the plan. I’m only basing off of one report, Kotaku no less, so who knows.

The memos are going to go on all year, as they’re laying off 1600 now and 1600 over the next year or rest of the year.

So I expect the news to keep on going on the lay offs all year long.

One report said tomorrow is the division-wide meeting, which will leak like always.

I would be surprised if The Coalition makes it to 2028 being a Xbox studio, doesn’t look like it fits what MS is looking for right now, GoW isn’t a big IP anymore and i don’t see how the next entry can be profitable.

This said i think if this is the case, they should have no problem to find another buyer to acquire them to try on new IP’s or other existing ones.

True. Maybe then PS Twitter can finally be active.

Elder Scrolls… no mainline SP game since 2011, for one of the biggest franchises in the world, that is franchise malpractice, the fact that Phil didn’t come in making sure these games all were being developed to come out in the next 5 years is a massive failure and one of the main reasons why he doesn’t have a job right now, you don’t sit on huge IPs like those.
