Sony believes Xbox owning Call of Duty could impact consumers console choice UPDATE: Microsoft Responds

If this somehow falls through what do we expect MS to do ?

Drop 70 billion on 100s of permanent 3rd party exclusives for GP?

It won’t, so don’t bother wasting any time with the hypothetical concerns.

They will go ultra aggressive on a lot of stuff that’s for sure.

I don’t understand the notion Nintendo is kicking anyone ass. Theyre not in the same space. The definition of Nintendo kicking ass would be major publishers ignoring Series X and PS5 and making their flagship multiplats for Switch.

Nintendo is making a lot of sales sure and money but MS are buying a publisher that’s barely half of Nintendos’ net worth. Lets put that into perspective.

I see it the other way. Nintendo is kicking Microsoft’s ass and Sony’s ass because they DON’T get 95% of the major games from third party publishers and the few they do is via the cloud. Switch will most likely be the #1 all time selling console and at worst, 3rd best. Their exclusives double up Sony’s if not more and completely slaughter Microsoft’s exclusive game sales. And unlike Microsoft, they don’t have PC or stream their games on a cloud service.

So they have far less options than the other two in regards to how you can play their games, don’t have their games on PC or subscription service, don’t get 95% of third party games and yet, despite all those major shortcomings, they’re still kicking Microsoft’s and Sony’s asses.

And I say this as someone who doesn’t give a shit about Nintendo but I can see it. It’s that simple.

I think most people here are not arguing who has the moral high ground. Most are arguing that sony’s history seems to have rendered their arguments muddled and confused. Since this is a legal matter it’s not about who is morally right but who has stated their argument the clearest and most here think it’s MS. We just have to wait to see how it turns out. The past few years the legal systems around the world have become highly politicized so anything can happen.

Agreed.
