It looks really good even in handheld. Cinematics are stunning. I’m impressed by the quality of the game, compared to its relative low price.
I want to play more than the tutorial but the heatwave is making me postpone that though.
Never thought I’d hear melatonin speak, but after Nick’s intro of this vid, I feel like I have

Solid review. The only part that disappointed me based on the clip is the train boss fight. They didn’t do it justice when you unlocked the crash defeat as they lost the direction upon remaking it. Watch the original and see how incredibly satisfying it was. Not to mention, it was the most rumble experience in N64 history.
Other than that, I look forward to playing it.
Looking forward to starting Star Fox this coming Sunday. And I for one love the way the characters look. Hehe. ![]()
Great review Nick!!
I can’t get over how good this looks, its like a top looking Unreal 5 game.
Like for all my Switch 2 games, I’ll wait and grab it on marketplace in a few weeks for 40% off as people get rid of their copies.
Can’t wait to play the remake though, I’ve played the original a disgusting amount of time in my young age!
Completed Star Fox earlier today. Got the best ending on the first playthrough and I even screwed up the run on the very first stage as I missed the last stone arch to fly under and couldn’t get the secret passage. Overall, a great game and I enjoyed it but the combat/gameplay wasn’t as great as I was expecting. First, why do you have two reticles? It makes no sense. The camera is bad at times and I know the game is on rails but why does the camera stay in one stationary position for almost the entire game? For example, if you go to the top left of the screen to shoot and kill an enemy, the Airwing will literally be at the top left of the TV screen as opposed to the camera moving with the ship so the ship is centered in the screen. I played using the default controls and yeah, it’s not good but I wasn’t going to change anything. Enjoyed the story and characters. Everything being fully voiced made me very happy and unlike Nick and others, I actually liked the way the characters looked. I think they looked great.
- Visuals - 9.0/10 (excellent)
- Audio - 8.0/10 (great)
- Gameplay/Combat - 7.0/10 (good)
- Story/Characters - 8.0/10 (great)
- Overall - 8.0/10 (great)
Overall, a great game that I enjoyed for the most part. While I don’t believe that the game is worth $50, it was the first Star Fox game I played since Super Nintendo so the experience overall evens it out.
