I think the better topic to talk about is are the wordings come from insiders or source provider. If it’s the former, why so cryptic and at times on the nose to say “F*** your platform!”
They really can’t. Its bad enough Minecraft, CoD arent fully exclusive. Now they have to desecrate even Pentiment or HiFi Rush despite Phil promising they would be exclusive to game pass platforms.
For what? To build hype for sequel? Which will totally be exclusive until it isnt to build hype for next sequel.
Isnt the idea game pass would hit triple digits by 2030? Fueld by exclusives? If you can’t get it done with a game by giving 100m copies away, how the fuck does porting their predecessors help?

the talk reminds about Play Anywhere thing, when it was announced i was seeing people saying about xbox being devalued, it gonna kill the brand and etc, then we are here now.
Where was it said it will piss off Xbox fans? Because I can’t find it myself. Going by the tweets I see it’s one platform other than Xbox, so could absolutely just be Switch(2) after all.
Psychonauts 2 is not off the table then. What about Ori 1 and 2, could those be coming to PS after all? They sure were critically acclaimed games. But those are two, they just speak of one game.
This is much different than that. PC gaming is a vastly different market than console market, so that was always a whatever. However, Playstation and Xbox are very similar to the point where exclusive titles are the only thing that sets them apart.
If you put Xbox games on Playstation then that’s more damaging to the console brand, but not Microsoft’s wallet. However, the trickle down effect of that move will hurt Microsoft’s pockets because gamepass subs will drop due to consoles at this point being the main driver. If a person moves to playstation, then they’re most likely going to lose a sub because a person will most likely choose PS+ tier and buy xbox games separately. Plus, going into next gen I can see remaining people on Xbox just get a Playstation because gamepass itself is not a huge enough pull to keep a person on the platform if Microsoft exclusives start going to Playstation and Nintendo

One last thing and I will shut up about this “third party” thing lol. I just want Phil and Co. to be more open with their future roadmaps and plans. Transparency is one way to develop trust with costumers , especially ones who were longtime fans of Xbox like me.
They hooked me in when they started to buy Bethesda/Obsidian etc, and committed to their ecosystem. Them suddenly going third party will make me feel like I wasted my money and time when I could have just stayed in the PS ecosystem with the backlog I had plus I was gonna get Xbox games anyway( all hypothetical as of rn of course).

well, this discussion would be way worst if ABK deal did fail, btw still a rumor (not even from trusty person) jumping into conclusions wouldn’t help at all.
So much angst over a vague rumor.

Flight Sim I doubt because of the Microsoft Marketplace built into the game and with how horrible we know Sony is with cross-buy policies from all the leaked documents during the PS4 times.

Whats worse, being in the PS ecosystem and not knowing which and when Xbox scrap will come your way or being in the a box ecosystem and not knowing which games will be multiplatform?
I much prefer knowing what I’m going to get versus what I’m not going to get.

To be fair (also last thing I promise ) while we might disagree on some titles being multiplatform - I don’t think anyone has anything to worry about so far as the Xbox going third party nonsense goes. Having their own hardware as a platform is always gonna be their core, and that core is always gonna be driven by exclusives. I personally think we’re all gonna be happy with the strong line up of exclusives that are coming.
The Xbox one. With Playstation you know you’re getting exclusives plus Xbox scraps. We Xboxers don’t get any Playstation scraps and moves like this dont reinforce that any Xbox game won’t get ported to Playstation.
If we are “to have competition” as Satya once exclaimed, why doesn’t Xbox try to be competitive instead of spending billions while asking Sony if they want their shoes shined too. I don’t pay my game pass subscription to beta for Playstation. Bah!

It’s only worse if you don’t care about Xbox or Bethesda games. If you want to play Elder Scrolls 6 you should probably own an Xbox. If you don’t and just hope it hits whatever platform you purchased instead you’re basically giving up on playing it.

Before I exit this subject, I have one question. Why all the sudden he has this amount of credibility? You don’t need him to tell you that Banjo is in development. Anyone can tell you, true or not. You don’t need him. He usually needs a line-up of others to give him more credibility and “break” the news. Don’t give me that Halo Infinite one, everyone was beginning to say it. Same with Blade looking back at its history. Unless more people begin to say, it’s dust on my shoulder and I should have wipe it away.
Really tired of all this porting talk. It‘s always in the news and can be more important than the games itself. The porting rumors feel like breaking the dike slowly but steadily. Everyone reads the clickbait news again and that means less and less incentive to buy an Xbox for new customers over time. They have such a stellar lineup of exclusives coming up but they always fail to set a Xbox ecosystem-centric expectation around them, either through actual ports or the rumors.

It’s hard to verify the accuracy of any insider - internal plans change, projects get cancelled or delayed and as you say, some information gets batted around from insider to insider. But I’m searching through gamingleaksandrumours for leaks associated with him and there seems to be a lot of accurate ones - I’m not seeing anything for Xbox specifically that could be proven false.
Even his Persona 6 stuff came with details of Persona 3 remake being announced at an Xbox show - which was correct.
I have bad history with him, so until I get it from one I got good record with, I’ll move.
Not sure what your point is with this and Persona 6 hasn’t even been revealed yet
