Yeah. Even Sawyer tweeted that he would be in a “trouble” if he reveals his project a few months ago.
My expectation is that Hellblade II will be shown – that’s not only been rumoured forever, we also have good reason to believe it is in a showable state since the ‘montage’ thing they showed in the summer did actually contain snippets of gameplay so a short trailer should be doable by now.
My guess is that Redfall will also be shown – depending on when in summer 2022 it is releasing, this could be the last major publicity moment to reveal it properly, and even if it is after E3 2022, that is going to be cutting it very fine to do the first big promotional moment then. I would go as far as to say that if they aren’t ready to show Redfall now, then it’s not going to make Summer 2022 and will get pushed.
I would like, but am not particularly expecting, there to be one other nice surprise. An announcement of something we’ve seen nothing from, like the Compulsion game, or inXile game, or something like that. Not holding my breath though.
lol what
I always expected Redfall to be shown at E3 2022 and get a late summer ergo mid September release.
Why are you surprised lol? Of course he would get at least a telling off because it is not his decision when to reveal his project.
Plus the tweet was more tongue in cheek about the situation.
September is autumn/fall?
Dec, Jan, Feb – Winter
March, April, May – Spring
June, July, Aug – Summer
Sept, Oct, Nov – Autumn/Fall
Even so, first showing a major AAA budget game in June for release in Sept is pretty unusual.
Even BGS games where they announce at E3 and release the same year are for Nov, and that is considered a super quick run up.
lol no I know that, that’s precisely why I was thinking wait that’s not his decision anyway
Astronomical summer ends on 23 September actually.
No business refers to astronomical seasons in their marketing. They differ over years due to leap years and next to no one can tell you where a season changes on any given year.
They use the standard northern hemisphere meteorological seasons, which are well understood.
If they say a game is ‘summer’ and it comes out in September, it’s late. If they put out a statement saying “actually, it’s still summer if you refer to astronomical seasons” they would be a laughing stock.
2 AM in the morning… Do you hate me Geoff?
That’s nothing. 6am here.
Too late to stay up, too early to wake up. ![]()
He just loves that West Coast audience lol.
I’d vastly prefer that tbh. Means waking up an hour earlier than normal.
4:00 a.m. for me…which is pretty much no man’s land when compared to 2:00 or 6:00. Geoff pls. ![]()
4AM - 7AM for me
Means I’ll wake up just in time for the thread of the relevant news and trailers I want to see
It’s 5pm pst, I’ll be just leaving work so won’t catch it live
I have days off for halo, so I’ll wake up, and just browse youtube/twitter/forums for xbox stuff
9:30 PM here, I’m good.
Got to make it convenient for that Hollywood prestige he’s chasing.
will Xbox Game Studios show up at The Game Awards to reveal a new title?
I’m not expecting gameplay for anything already announced, they save gameplay for YouTube and e3 stuff.
