The fact that the Series X will automatically add HDR support to games, including those released decades before HDR even existed, just blows my mind. The ability to double the frame rate of a select set of titles is also just incredible.
Microsoft is really dropping the ball on marketing. All the things the Series X will be able to do and yet many people still don’t know about. Stop making pages and pages of blog posts with fancy words and just release a video like “hey, here’s that Mass Effect you bought 10 years ago running with HDR support and at 60 FPS”.
I just can’t wait to finally have the Series X release date so that the OT calendar will finally begin to take form.
I’m interested to see what kind of enhancements Sea of Thieves will get. Obviously improved performance in 4K but we talking upgrades to visuals? little ray tracing? Game is already gorgeous but can’t imagine what it look like with a little more technical love for both PC and XSX.
Dirt 5 has been delayed for a second time. The game was originally announced to be released on October 6 for the Xbox One with a Series X version coming later this year, and then it was delayed until October 16. Today Codemasters has announced that the game is now launching on November 6 – could it be the same date as the Series X launch?
Many games are also moving back its release dates to align with the console’s launch. Yakuza and Assassin’ Creed, for example, will now release on November 10.
We are also starting to see the size of some of the games that will support Smart Delivery. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is 60 GB, while Dirt 5 is 78 GB and Call of Duty is 100 GB.
It is an actual next-gen port which will run at a 4K resolution with 60 frames per second. It will also benefit from faster load times as it is being optimized for the next-gen SSD.
The One X version currently has a 4K 30 FPS mode and a performance mode with locked 60 FPS and lower resolution.
Sea of Thieves, Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Gears 5 are also getting a next-gen port that will support Smart Delivery.
Ops! Fixed it, thanks for point it out

Riders Republic (Ubisoft Annecy / Ubisoft)
Ubisoft also announced today that Riders Republic, the next game made by the Steep developers Ubisoft Annecy, is coming to the Series X|S on February 25, 2021. Not much is known about its optimizations except that it will support 60 FPS.
Really glad AC Valhalla is 60 FPS/4k on the Series X.
Does anyone know if Watchdogs Legion will be the same or are they going to double down on ray tracing at 30 FPS?
