Tips for old games that are MASSIVELY improved on Xbox Series X

Titanfall 2 runs at 4k/60 I believe. And Banjo nuts and bolt is absurdly beautiful!

After the X enhanced patch Titanfall 2’s upper resolution limit is supposedly 6K, it will be really interesting to see where Series X hits 6K and what is the most common resolution.

I am waiting for another tech video from Kage! hopefully he will include Titanfall 2 and Hivebusters in the next one!

I have a soft spot for Nuts and Bolts. Where is my Series X dammit!

I think it’s because the game uses the Source engine (even if heavily modified) that is not heavy but capable to offer stunning visuals as well, but still, 6k? Wow.

Look, gorgeous. Looks like a game from PS4/One gen!

Dark Souls Remastered and Dark Souls 2: Scholer of the First Sin are now a locked 60fps with no drops. Dark Souls 3 is sadly still 30fps and low resolution.

So basically like Ori’s resolution mode? Man that’s crazy. There are no options in the game though, are there?

There aren’t any options, from my understanding the engine pushes up to 6K when possible. Respawn basically future-proofed Titanfall 2 for the Series X (and beyond) with this patch.

I started to wonder if Oblivion was 60fps on XSX because I was unsure if it has a unlocked framerate. Sadly, nope. It’s 30fps alright.

Dem loading times tho, and auto HDR goodness!

Imagine if they were to enhance this game for BC, oh my!

Prey and Dishonerd are rather slow games and fine in 30 fps. In those games it is more about the exploration. Give them a try, they are bangers if you like such games.

The thing with Fallout 4 is. It needs a couple of other mods to smooth performance out in some interiors and in some outside locales. So imho I dont believe a simple 60fps double frame rate patch will be enough. And I highly doubt Bethesda or MS will invest anymore time optimising it.

So with that in mind, I’d jump in now but with the right mods. I only use 3 mods to get it a pretty much locked 60fps, 99% of the time.

Wolfenstein 2 looks jaw dropping with auto hdr.

Is this patch already out?

Ikr can’t wait for wolfenstein 3 to see how it ends

No patch, just BC

Hmm which mods?

Performance: Fallout 4 Potato Edition, 720p 60fps, Reduced Grass Density - Medium,

Optional: Unofficial Fallout 4 patch

I also use a load of other texture, ui and FOV mods but the above should give you the core improvement for performance 4k, 60fps with Auto HDR on SX. Also dont worry about the titles or descriptions of those mods, they dont alter much that you will notice from a fidelity perspective but do greatly improve performance in key areas.

Nice, but does that force 720p…? that is below my pain limit of 1080p usually

No, like I say ignore what the titles descriptions etc say. Native 4k 60fps. This one you’ll just have to trust me on.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning… On Xbox One X, load times are sooooo looong that it borders on unacceptable IMO. Series X, installed on the SSD, no issue. I really like the game but I’d be hesitant to recommend it to someone unless they’re going to be playing it off an SSD.

Loading is fine on XSX indeed.

Personally I dropped the game before the free play days version was even over. I didn’t like the characters, the world, the story was meh to me, didn’t feel alive, boring even. I honestly expected to have liked it more, ah well.
