True.
Casual audience is going to go more towards PC and mobile gaming anyway because as that audience starts younger, they’re not going to care about consoles because why would they want to limit and restrict themselves to one store front?
Those who only play COD, sports games, etc. will stay where they’re at until they’re forced to upgrade. If the next Xbox/PC hybrid console actually has all these store fronts and subscriptions available on it, I think that will entice a lot of people. And once gaming becomes all digital which I do believe will happen with both Microsoft and Sony next gen consoles, subscriptions will grow at a pretty big rate because majority won’t need to play the games day one and can wait while those who do will spend the money regardless.
I personally want more expensive hardware because I want better specs but have no interest in dealing with PC. I want the power and specs of PC but with the streamlined setup of a console. I’m willing to pay $2000 for the high end Xbox/PC hybrid console because it’s the only console and platform that im going to need.
We’ll see what happens though. Even at $500 and before the price increases, the console market wasn’t growing. I don’t see this changing regardless of the console(s) price tags.
