I’d love to see everyone’s favorite April Fools jokes that they ran into online on this most glorious holiday. I’m pretty much only on YouTube myself, so I know I didn’t get a full spread.
I really need to update feed because all I got was politics. Likely stop following so many people, but man do they all keep me informed when I ignore mainstream media.
That’s an April Fools joke in of itself…. I’m assuming you wouldn’t be following so many news sources if the times were more pleasant ![]()
Unfortunately not.
This one had me laughing lol
For those not getting it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/metro/comments/1s8ms9g/rmetro_is_officially_becoming_a_rapid_transit/
One of the most funny thing I’ve just found out is that the mods from R/Metro subreddit, dedicated to the Metro series of games and books, turned it into a Metro transit subreddit for a couple of days. People were posting photos from metro systems, tunnels and metro train cars from their city. Of course, regulars of the subreddit understood what was going on, but were kind of frustrated they weren’t able to make post about the game series.
The mods post is funny:
Hello everyone,
After years of careful observation, detailed analysis, and absolutely zero overreaction, the mod team has come to a conclusion.
r/metro has always been about discussing rapid transit.
For a long time we believed this community was centered around the Metro Universe by Dmitry Glukhovsky. But we cannot ignore the facts any longer.
Every few weeks someone posts about an LRT expansion in Calgary or a service issue in the Delhi metro. At first we thought these users were confused travellers from r/transit. But what if they were the enlightened ones all along?
The signs have been there from the beginning.
Effective immediately r/metro will permanently transition into a hub for:
Subway maps
Rolling stock appreciation
Signal system debates
Driverless automation
Tier lists of the world’s best station
Posts about mutants will be redirected to wildlife conservation subreddits. Posts about gas masks will be evaluated for OSHA compliance. And posting about a nuclear winter will only be allowed if service frequency is impacted.
Please begin submitting your favourite rapid transit systems immediately. Bonus points for system maps with confusing interlining.
Thank you for your cooperation during this exciting and completely permanent transition.
Oh my god the satire dripping from that prose is beautiful! 10/10 ![]()
