Like how Fallout 76 was revealed on the Xbox stage but we got all the details and in depth look on Bethesda’s stage ![]()
That’s another thing. While I think Playstation makes no sense to bring games the switch is a bit different.
What if all the exclusive talk or not was always in hindsight of the switch? Like Bethesda loves the switch and I can see it happening. Xbox does not really compete on a hardcore game market with Nintendo right now.
THIS would make the case by case statement even more logical and complicated.
Todd can simply mention Xbox or DirectX12 Ultimate stuff throughout his deep dive (how they were able to harvest the technology to its “full” potential and stuff like that), and then mention that it is coming exclusively to Xbox and Windows 10.
Bethesda is XGS now, but not completely treated that way. This is a sort of acquisition that Xbox hasn’t done before, it’s new for them too. Also, there was something with Vault concerning Bethesda, is that still happening?
I’m mixed on this. On one hand I say put a Starfield deep dive into your own show, it will take 30 minutes but who cares, maybe the show 90 minutes or longer if needed. But I say that as a huge BGS fan.
I can understand how it would be too long, especially when Xbox has so many studios and games now. Question is, are these studios ready to show off something at all though, if not, I say keep a big Starfield segment in the show.
i personally don’t care if Bethesda remain multiplatform.
but here is a thing in this scenario MS will lose their core fans who will pay for games, dlc , MT all of that money will be gone to something else
MS in this case will have to earn new players to be their core fans
it’s what it’s this is how i see it
This is quite simple to me.
Xbox Game Studios showcase Xbox Bethesda showcase
2 days of bombastic content featuring gameplay and deep dives on both of them, I would love more showcases to look at
More time for games, more time for reveals and gameplay. Do it!
It’s possible, yeah. But wouldn’t that go against what Phil said about bringing games to Switch? Also, I can’t really see games like Starfield and TES VI running on Switch. On the other hand they do have both Doom games now, don’t they? But they didn’t get Fallout 76.
It sure would make it harder for Xbox to fully commit to everything being exclusive yeah.
“Xbox is now the home of Bethesda games, but from time to time we will also release some titles on Switch.” it would be kinda weird. Especially so after Phil’s words on it not being sustainable.
Microsoft plans their E3s the day after their most recent E3…they had to assume the deal might not have gone through.
DLC for old games will come to PS4/Switch The PS5 will have its timed exclusives
Thats it though. Everything else is only on Xbox.
It means not jaming Bethesda stuff into an already hour plus xbox showcase for this year. They usually start planning E3s around the ending of the previous one. it would be a logistical nightmare trying to force the events together this close to E3. I’m sure they’ll be branded heavily as xbox though
Phil is well aware of the importance of exclusives, as per the 2018 talk. So unless things have changed, which I can’t imagine any good reason for…
Then the fact that franchises like TES, Fallout, Doom immensely bolster your lineup. These franchises WILL get new people to subscribe to GP or get an Xbox, 0 doubt!
And not even only those franchises and studios, Arkane and Tango could be making some very special games in the future. Single-player games at that, something Phil acknowledges that Xbox needs more of, wants it too.
And you’d not lock this down? Come on. Future E3’s or other shows will have the media sing your praises for having shown another promising Xbox exclusive, instead of yet another multiplatform game, big difference there.
Sony already took two timed exclusives from your new studios, which is not good. And you would actually willingly add to that? Miss me with that nonsense.
This twitter poll alone tells you how valuable making these games exclusive is, a poll by an Xbox account ended with 33% people wanting games to be multiplatform.
Xbox Series X|S, PC Gamepass/streaming, Android/IOS streaming, TV streaming, honestly these options are more than enough, people have no reasons to complain besides being emotionally attached to PS. Just make them exclusive and the people will come, it is simple.
People has spoken. Do it Microsoft!
I suspect multi no exclusive are Playstation community votes ![]()
Facts!
One thing I guess Xbox wants to keep in mind is that PS is the market leader and that tons and tons of people have a Playstation in their homes. Maybe they are afraid they’ll miss out on them, but they should not underestimate the draw of the big franchises they have now and as well the reach they have with console, PC, mobile, and TV in the near future. We all realize that, surely Xbox too I would hope.
At first PS players will be sad and then they’ll get over it. Many of them have great PCs probably, so no problem there. And new gamers deciding whether to get Xbox or sub to GP, or PS5 might just go for the former since they want those huge games.
Minecraft is why, essentially.
Oh boy how many times do we have to go over this
Its best to let people think what they think and we’ll all find out in the next couple weeks.
Minecraft is in an entire different league. While TES is big it is not above Xbox. And I would rate Doom even lower.
People can think what they want but using the minecraft example has been debunked already like 30k times
Hey I have an idea:
Hey @Shpeshal_Nick based on some of your sources (not an opinion) but SOURCES, do you believe that Bethesda games will be exclusive?
Now we wait.
Hey I mean we are all speculating and as I said I think that all Beth games will have some degree of exclusivity but Minecraft to some degree- indicates to me that Xbox would take a 1 or 2 year times exclusive deal.
Are you really that confident that they are just going to say ‘all Beth games going forward are exclusive to our platforms’?
I just cannot see it happening.
Edit: It’s not something that can get debunked lol. We are in an entirely speculative realm. As I said above I think that all Beth games will have some degree of exclusivity. MC tells me that the degree of exclusivity of things under their umbrella is flexible.
