Thats not good. I generally am not concerned with who acquires who. However, Tencent i just can’t trust as they ultimately are beholden to the chinese government.
We’ve had years of former employees, anonymous tips, etc. that the work environment within CDPR isn’t healthy. This ranges from crunch, toxic/unprofessional leadership, weird PR, etc.
Its just that now people are starting to see more issues since Cyberpunk came out in the state that its in.
CDPR having issues isn’t anything new and I’m sure growing fast didn’t help with that either.
It is been more than 1 year already. But Tencent in general has a huge influence in Japan. It is akin USA companies in Europe.
They literally only have 1 good game and the disaster that is Cyberpunk. I get some people can enjoy Cyberpunk but that doesn’t take away from it being an overpromised and buggy disaster.
Also people just ignore how messy Witcher 3 launch was.
If or when Microsoft do buy Sega, will they inherit the Alien license? That’d be worth it alone.
I would assume not since SEGA doesn’t have an exclusive license (Fox has an internal studio working on an MMO or something).
Paradox is interesting because even with a partnership, Microsoft could easily share some of the dormant FASA IPs to Tabletop.
Paradox already made a Magicka card game and are working on a boardgame version of Crusader Kings.
I’d love to see Shadowrun come back as a board game, or do something similar to Netrunner but with Shadowrun.
Also beware the curse.

Considering that Sony formed alliance with Kadokawa, I wonder if it will try to acquire it? I mean, the market cap of Kadokawa in the future is around 2 bil. USD only.
Nothing to do with games.
Maybe not, but strategically it might be not a bad move. Wish MS was more active in Japan, but they are concentrating on western market for now which also make sense considering that PS invaded USA mainland since the last gen and pushed Xbox back.
Kadakowa also deals in animation… Sony is borderline running the entire streaming portion of the anime industry.
After purchasing Crunchy Roll, wouldn’t be a bad investment. Not sure what else they work in though.
From my understanding the deal already is a strategic move for Sony as a whole. They want to make anime a core pillar of their entertainment business. This allows them to further that goal. We, as gamers, tend to only look at how a move impacts that component. I’ve seen a lot of FUD spread about this which in all likelihood is much ado about nothing.
Sega also actually has some anime dealings.
Like in-house?
They produce anime or have studios. Not sure.
Cyberpunk sold more then anything WB, Sega, Paradox, put out this entire generation. It’s in o way a disaster and continues to sell on Steam. The Witcher and Cyberpunk as licenses are way more revelent then anything I else I see here suggested.
MS are more likely to get CDPR then most other suggestions. I’m just not sure when. Wont happen this year
Nintendo also have a stake in them, it’s meaningless.
They won’t go for CDPR because of GOG. MS doesn’t need a storefront.
if this is true, I hope to stop seeing Microsoft buying Valve comments in this thread, tbh it’s rather annoying at this point lmao
Also the philosophy of GOG is fundamentally against Microsoft’s dogshit DRM with the microsoft UWP.
