I kn ow this has nothing to do with the broadcast, but holy cracamoly is Phil a lot thinner than before is an understatement of the year. Kinda jealous even though am a good weight for my size.
Anyhow, anyone has any idea as do which publisher is likely to make an apperance in the broadcast?
We know Koei Tecmo and Obsidian is a slam dunk cause of Ninja Gaiden and Outer World 2, but who else?
My bet is on both Konami and Square Enix. I don’t know if Sega makes an apperance alongside either Bandai or Capcom.
Imagine the thrill of not having heard any of the rumors and it being an actual surprise!
As for target dates, I was thinking somewhere around May/June timeframe but doubt it would happen. It has never been the typical release date for Forza Horizon – last days of September to second week of November. That time now belongs to COD. They also have a handful of other titles to slated for first half. Anyways, that brings me back around to having no idea when they’d release it.
Nah, they’d want to save it for the 2026 Xbox 25th anniversary if anything (and that’s what was teased at the XGS this year). Fingers crossed for a release date before fall 2026.
Yeah i feel like they should not show it in tgs and instead try to do so on the 25th anniversary, its more special that way to be honest. It would also be a lesson to leakers or insiders who ruin the fun for others.
To clarify, I have no idea if they’d “announce” it at TGS aside from the same rumors. Just saying that I’d be really REALLY susprised if they jump the gun and “release” it at any time this year.
Maybe we get a tease at TGS and a dev direct kicks off the the 25th anniversary celebrations in January with an actual gameplay trailer for FH6. Or maybe we get nothing at TGS and FH6 gets announced at a dev direct or some other event next year. Or maybe FH6 doesn’t exist at all. Only our future selves (by a day or two) know for sure (and I guess MS execs).
I kind of don’t think there will be any developers or publishers at the Xbox presentation, mainly because most of them already have their own time slots to announce things. General the TGS slot is for Xbox to announce Japanese-centric announcements, such as their own collaborations. You’ll see Ninja Gaiden 4, for example, and in the past the first World Update for Flight Simulator 2020, and localisation for Elder Scrolls Online. There might be some OD: Knock content.
There will be announcements for smaller and indie publishes from East Asia, who aren’t big enough to host their own presentation, so we may see things from smaller Korean and Chinese developers. Also there will be some Gamepass announcements as well.
So yeah, don’t expect this to be an E3 or Gamescom presentation, where there is a lot of new announcements from internal studios and partners. It’ll be what Xbox is doing in East Asia. The last two TGS presentations were like this.
This year is the first time there will be some Xbox presence on the show floor, with Ninja Gaiden 4 and the Xbox ROG Ally being playable.
And of course photo ops on X featuring Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond and Matt Booty at different studios.
Oh! That’s the big entrance banner too! Of course it’s this year that Xbox has physical presence . I went in person last year and to the Star Wars Celebration this year (it’s in the same location), so I’m moneyed and energied out for a big fan venue right now. Plus it’s later in September this year and a bit harder to get off for work.
