Love that in FH6 you’ll be able to seamlessly drive onto a circuit and compete in a time attack.
Won’t do well on ps5, forza will no doubt. Fable not so much is what i gather, on pc however that is different and its going to be a money maker there alongside xbox.
However, i do feel like for the 25th anniversary they should really think about putting more emphasis on the ecosystem instead of just the reach, cause i still think they priority here is reach and not the other way around and that long term is not hte most ideal if they end up dealing with steam once next gen hits.
Personal opinion of mine, no offense to anyone. The ports are not bad, the messaging however is dog doo doo.
The dev direct is already blowing up. #1 trending in gaming on YouTube and already 720k views. When people don’t want Xbox to detonate in the stratosphere, they sure are excited about what they have to bring.

I’ll say this, Xbox does push boundaries, so the challenge is getting tougher.
I can’t watch the show until after work so in a couple hours. What exactly did they say about progression changing? This is a change I fully approve but curious if what they showed/said really means it or if everyone is just assuming.
Kiln is a fantastic idea. Creation > multiplayer balancing is a fascinating challenge. How the feel of the creative design translates into the (necessarily) strait-jacketed ‘type’ is key. That’s a novel thing, I hope it works.
Some details about progression here - Forza Horizon 6: More Details on The Country, The Culture and The Cars of Playground Games’ Japan - Xbox Wire
You start Forza Horizon 6 not as a professional driver, but as a tourist, with a dream to one day attend the Horizon Festival in Japan. It’s a slightly different approach compared with previous Horizon games; in Horizon 4, you’re rising through the ranks in the UK, and in *Horizon 5’*s Mexico, you’re at the apex of the career you built in the epilogue of the previous game. Horizon 6 almost feels like a fresh start, and one designed to appeal not just to car enthusiasts, but anyone with a big goal.
“Ultimately, I think it really boils down to the fact that so many of us love that idea of going to a place that you don’t know, a place that you’re eager to discover,” Ellert says. “You have this motivation to go to Japan with the Horizon Festival, but you’re only attending as a fan, with a dream to take part in it. That felt like a great way to frame up that big open-door experience and explore the question of ‘what would it take for you to drop everything to fly to the other side of the world to pursue your dream?’
“Somehow, it felt right in this game to just put you on the ground – like you just got off the plane, you’ve got a couple of friends that share your dream and know the surroundings. It’s a notional projection of yourself in the game, and the thrill of arriving in a new place full of opportunities.”
I’m a little surprised that they’re not doing the body morphing based on your choices, but the reasoning behind it makes sense.
I watched the DD on delay, did anyone stay on for the post DD card? Over the card, you heard a ticking clock, and a man either groaning or crying…
Clockwork Revolution the fifth game?
I’m hearing it, but I guess that’s a tease for their next showing, which likely comes with a release date for Clockwork Revolution.
Thanks for this. very exciting indeed. Can’t wait to watch the video after work.
Is CR planned for this year? Because Jesus, that would make it an even more insanely great year for Xbox Game Studios.
I just saw this video, nicely edited by XboxEra.
I can’t stop watching this, I soooooo want to just explore that world and just try out anything they let you try out.
In that interview by Xbox the developer talked of two kinds of players, those that go straight for the story and then finish it, and those that really try out everything in the game. I’m definitely number two. Definitely going to try and just well…murder everyone just to see what happens or what happens when I just off one civilian and see how people react. Love messing with gameplay mechanics like that.
I don’t know or think we heard anything about a release date, but since it got shown of last year, it makes sense to me the next showing will be with a date.
-
Fable features a vast open world where all buildings are enterable.
-
The map is still slightly smaller than that of a Forza Horizon game.
-
Players can engage in a ton of activities in a game like get married, have kids, divorce, rob or buy properties, etc.
Finally got to watch it and my god Forza Horizon 6 and Fable look incredible. I’m actually giddy like a child thinking about playing those games this year.
Good show, everything looks great. I like this DD format where we get to see the studio, creators, bits of concept art, behind the scenes etc… Way better than a trailer/basic commercial w/ an unrelated host commenting on it.
DD is so good, Geoff didn’t bother to put up a poll.
Nothing wrong with that. I’m 43 this year and I still get excited for stuff like this. I’ll be gaming for many years to come.
