Xbox Developer_Direct Showcase coming January 25th. Redfall, Forza Motorsport, ESO, and Minecraft Legends. Starfield show in the works

No, I don’t expect it to be a traditional showcase. I think it will be something like GT7 or Hogwarts State of Play but with multiple games at once.

I’m not expecting anything but what’s announced, hoping for some GP announcements though

People expecting them to announce big new titles are gonna be disappointed

Developer of Snake Pass, which makes it quite exciting. I love that game. Hope it’s a 3D platformer, I’ll take a remake but a brand new one i what I truly wish for. But it’s not gonna be easy to bring that BK feel unless they got people on board that know what makes BK, BK.

So far as I’m concerned they’re trying to address a lot of the criticism they’ve gotten in past shows, Inside Xbox and bigger shows:

  • Hosts people don’t like.
  • Non-gaming related segments that take too long.
  • Not enough gameplay
  • People disappointed because certain games don’t show up
  • People disappointed because certain games do show up.
  • Not managing expectations/hype appropriately

So we’ve got a show that we know is going to have:

  • No hosts
  • the games that are there are announced ahead of time
  • they’ve even announced what games won’t be there
  • A smaller slate of games with more gameplay

If you manage to develop expectations that aren’t met here and come away disappointed… it’ll literally be a “you problem” in the strongest sense of the phrase.

That’s not to say you can’t speculate about a surprise or a one more thing… But keep in mind they’ve announced what WON’T even be there. So if they haven’t said there’s a surprise… there probably isn’t one.

I think the only person who should be able to be disappointed here is that guy on Era who only plays on Xbox but only plays JRPGs that aren’t on Xbox. He’s probably going to be disappointed. Everyone else should find at least something they’re interested in.

Really looking forward to Forza Motorsport. As much as I enjoy Horizon, there is something special about good old-fashioned circuit racing.

Not at this show lol, this show is about the games coming out in a couple months.

He asked for a ban.

Judging by Aaron’s latest tweet, I’m expecting only the four games shown and a couple game pass announcements.

Maaaybe a surprise game from like Tango, but I wouldn’t expect any major surprises at all on this show.

they want to set proper expectations, if more is there it’s just a bonus. as is I’d always only expect what they say directly moving forward on things like this. Ignore insiders!

I expect Fable, Indiana Jones and Perfect Dark.

Perhaps it will be like extended without the host and interview. The four games mentioned are the highlights and before transition to the next one, it will be commercial filled with new trailers or game pass announcements.

I expect GamePass drops, wild rift coming to console alongside the GamePass perk for all characters, and then goldeneye dropping as the one last thing

You should “expect” the things they’ve listed, and have the tiniest hope for more.

didn’t they put all champion xgpu perk to all riot games on 12 December? or just the lol for pc?

All the games except Wild Rift (the currently mobile only version of lol) have their perk added. The website says it’s coming in January (very suspicious timing!)

At bare minimum. If it’s only those three, plus the four they’ve announced, I’ll be disappointed. Personally I think they’ll also shadow drop Starfield, and announce an 11/11/23 release date for the next Elder Scrolls.

What about the Series X Pro reveal? Should be here too.

i think we need to see how this format plays out before we start going crazy on predictions

By how it sounds, a 40 mins shows of no host just Dev’s and gameplay already sounds way better than anything else Xbox ever made at them showcase in years past.
