Yeah, at least that affordable here in brazil the price is gonna be well over 129 reais unless something drastic changes. So for me this sucks doo doo.
lol YouTube just showed me an ad for the new GamePass revamp. Xbox doesnât even realize just how angry everyone is right now. They thought this ânew GamePassâ was something worth running an ad campaign for ![]()
GP ads arenât for âusâ. Theyâre for casuals who will have no clue that anyone in this bubble is angry.
Maybe, but if you are a gamer overall i would imagine that they would critized and say that this is a bad move overall. Which it is, i mean the ultimate price is now over 120 reais in brazil, that is bad no matter how it looks in north america or europe. Thatâs not even going over the rest of the south american countries alongside the continent of africa.
$35.95 in Australia for ultimate. Sub expires end of the month. For the rest of the year Iâd be wanting to play TOW2 and BO7 at least, probably more. Will be hunting around for some cheap codes to stack
Maybe there is some truth to developers/publishers feeling GP is devaluing games. Pushing the price up causes less disturbance to the traditional buying games model.
All this doesnât really give me confidence whatever MS is doing next gen will be a good value.
That is what am fearing here, i just feel like they might make a 2013 incident again and i just do not want a repeat of that at all.
Big price jump! Just read through everyoneâs thoughts on this and I agree with most here. To me Ultimate used to be the default choice. Now ultimate is for big time power users. I play 5-10 hours/week. Adding more content and increasing the price does nothing for me. Iâll still play 5-10 hours/week. I have plenty of time to think about it but, my gut tells me to drop down a tier. Luckily Iâm one of those patient gamers. Feel like Iâm always playing the older stuff anyway. So dropping down to premium saves me $5/mo I guess?
I am surprised at the the $10 increase vs doing this in stages over time. I wonder what the thinking on that is. I read someone speculate, this is for when they drop paid online multi player they will then drop the price down to $25. Creative theory but hard to believe.
Yeah, the later i can believe somwhat but the former is way up in the air at the moment, given how both playstation and i think nintendo also use this paid online multiplayer stuff.
Some refer to it as âripping the band-aid offâ. One bad news cycle vs several. Because even if they raised it $1 at a time people would doom spiral over it.
A lot of people talk about cancelling, Iâm wondering if a lot of people will actually fully drop out of the ecosystem because of this.
You could always downgrade your subscription, but you lose access to Day 1 games which was a big reason to get Gamepass.
Also, a lot of the people in countries where xCloud was apparently popular, like Brazil, really seem to be priced out with the new prices.
I donât know if MS will back down and reduce pricing, but I feel like they might have actually really hurt temselves badly this time around. I am extending another time with codes until next gen comes in, but even I might completely drop out, go on PC, and just buy a few games from now on and enjoy my BC games for the future.
Instead of having these bundles, it should really be like a TV bundle where you just pick what you want and maybe get a discount the more you add to it. Just have it all custom for everybodyâs needs.
Checked random account that created a thread on reddit about if there is still a purpose to owning an Xbox - in their comment history they explicitly claim to hate Xbox. Many other are probably also farming karma there. As for other social media? Unless I can see a screenshot showing that theyâve turned off auto-renewal, Iâm assuming theyâre mostly stirring up shit for attention.
That is why i never have social media anymore i only occasionaly use youtube for funny videos or game information and reddit for anything gacha game realated or manga associated.
Well, between this and Ubisoft Connect version leaks for [PROTOTYPE], my new favorite conspiracy theory is that Ubisoft started leveraging their cloud rights really hard now.
Or, just as likely, theyâre upping costs to milk current customers because they think they can get away with it.
All im going to say is that I just added 6 more months to my Game Pass Ultimate subscription at $20 per month. Iâm now set until the middle of January 2028.
Is downgrading to Premium the best option for most people? The only major issue is losing day one premieres?
For me I game solely on PC these days. Also have a Series X that the kids use. So Ultimate is what weâve been subbed to for some time now. I prefer to have day one games so Iâve either got to stick with Ultimate or switch to just PC game pass and the kids miss out on GP on the console. They donât tend to play much these days so Iâm considering dropping to PC only.
No EA Play or Ubisoft+ as well.
Iâd say sure, but I donât think the userbase supports that. Nintendo users yes, Sony users probably, but Xbox not really. Definitely not the case outside of the Anglosphere. More than likely they arenât capturing the âvalueâ customers with low pricing so they will just go after the âpremiumâ customers (which I suppose is milking those with a lot of money).
Weâll see when next gen rolls out with the pricing/specs of the Nextbox. If it is some high-end expensive console weâll have our answer.
