One thing is that as a Russian studio this could be up in the air, they’ve been pretty quiet since everything started but they did deny a rumour that the game had been delayed as a result a couple months ago - so it should still be on track?
I really hope it comes this year, but understandable if it doesn’t.
I remember seeing it years ago and thinking “I really hope this isn’t one of those vaporware indie projects”. Thankfully it looks like it won’t be.
Oddly enough I was discussing this with one of my more ‘casual gamer’ friends last night, who was asking me if I was going to buy Modern Warfare 2 as he was (he also has GP).
I’m not really into COD so my immediate response was I’ll wait for it to be in Gamepass (and play it with him then), but he believed that ABK games won’t go into GP day one. Until then I hadn’t even considered the possibility that they wouldn’t be in Gamepass day one.
Personally I think it’s just marketing speech as it won’t look very consumer friendly to say:
“Play Xbox Game Studios Games, Bethesda Games and Activision Blizzard Games titles the same day as release”
It’s like the “Play over 100 high quality games” is realistically “Play over 500 high quality games”.
Yeah it’s not even a possibility that Activision games won’t be Game Pass Day 1 (where contractually).
I liked Hypnospace Outlaw a lot, would be really cool to see the sequel on GP as well!
The art style and animation are so cool. Appears to be a souls-like.
If Game Pass isn’t getting any day one AAA release this year, why not go after some older ones that still released this year?
The other day someone mentioned Dying Light 2, but another one could be Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Then again, who knows, maybe those exactly are two of the games Sony paid the pubs for to block them for a GP release.
Dying Light 2? No that had marketing with xbox. TTW maybe who knows.
Maybe they will, we’ll find out. I kinda doubt we ever see Dying Light. The first one never made it and the original had really long legs.
Pretty sure Tony Tina was announced at a PS Showcase (or at least shown at one) so there might be a marketing deal there. In which case… take it off the list.
I think it they can add Ghostwire to this fall/winter they have a pretty strong lineup.
There is a possibility that we’ll see Deathloop this fall but I think that we’ll see Ghostwire next March or something like that since it’s also under a year exclusivity deal. Still as you said Deathloop will be a great addition to the service.
Oops, I got the games mixed up haha
To be clear the rumour that we wouldn’t be getting any day one AAA releases was specifically in regard to day one AAA releases, like if MIcrosoft had been able to make a deal for Gotham Knights or something - there’s nothing to suggest we won’t get a decent range of older AAA titles like you’re suggesting.
If the ABK deal goes through there should be a massive drop of older games on Game Pass.
I’m looking forward to this one in particular, I’ve not really kept up with Call of Duty the last few years but there’s some campaigns I’d definitely like to give a try. In this modern day and age of games that are often 30-100 hours long there’s something really refreshing about a 8 hour long linear shooter.
Yeah, same I have only played some of the very old ones. Idc about CoD MP but the campaigns looks like they can be fun.
I’m praying to all the gods in existence for MS to do something with all of ABK’s old catalogue of games and licensing games…like, not right out of the gate but maybe the upcoming years

All I ask for is Singularity.
I got too old and shitty at first person shooters to keep up with multiplayers, I’m all about the campaigns. I’m looking forward to playing some of the newer campaigns, I fell off them a few years ago when they stopped being easy to find cheap. If you haven’t tried them I’d definitely recommend Advanced Warfare and Infinite Warfare - the latter in particular is like “how is this a CoD campaign”. There is even god damn side quests!
