And honestly, at that point it IS probably better to delay it but I just wish studios wouldn’t so loosely announce release dates and windows. I realize it’s tricky because had they just said "2023* last year when they announced the delay people would have hated that too.
And he’s a cool guy, but I wish Todd would just ease down with the talking too. It was him that during E3 said the finishing touches were being applied on the game. With all that in mind it really doesn’t sound like something that needs a full year delay. But who knows now.
But we’ll see, maybe these crazy bastards will actually manage to drop it before the first half ends.
Just played this yesterday again for the japanese automotive event. It’s such a brilliant racing game. But I’m still wodnering when DLC 2 is releasing?

I’ve kinda just shoved it to the back of my mind. I’m so behind on games that I am just trying to get through what’s been dropping before Starfield hits.
Maybe they know it’s June but haven’t settled on a specific day yet. Or Todd and Phil and Todd Vaughan and Matt Booty know the date but no one else does, hence why it hasn’t leaked.

Yeah, same here. Even if it were to get delayed we have plenty of amazing stuff to play, both backlog and coming out. I just really, really hope (in the case of delay) it actually comes out on the new date.

People are stuck in old mode re shows, it’s going to be recorded. They can be putting it together without even knowing when it will be exactly. It’s not like the old days when you need a date to get journalists and press booked and events and live stuff. It will be a video. It will not need a big pre announce.
And the timeline for the game may well not be decided yet. If they are in Q&A with such a large and complex game they may well have June in mind but could be at a stage where a major Q&A issue that breaks a few systems means it had to be a few months later….again new world is games come out whenever. We aren’t in the old world of big games September- December only. And if we were it would be dated now already. But since we are not it’s sensible to wait until they know how things look and what might need fixing.

You’re not wrong. In one of the Skyrim documentaries the devs said that one small bug, like a insect made the whole game crash. It’s always possible that they stumbled upon something like that.
The year started great with the support page re-confirming the release window, then the announcement of the Direct and dedicated Starfield show, things were looking really hopeful and I think many of us expected a show air date announced by now. OK, February isn’t over yet, but you know. And then the stuff by Jez about how internally still very little is known…yeah, I don’t know.
But, in the case it does need to get delayed, it won’t be the end of the world.
if they have a great showing, and things are looking great, I think most will be okay with a few more months. It’ll suck, of course, but enough to play, that won’t be a problem. Long as they DO hit the new date. But all of this is one big if.

I would rather it came out in the best shape possible than worried about hitting June. I’m a bit sort of iffy on June anyway. I get fiscal year. But Redfall hits may. You don’t really need two big hitters in spring and summer consecutively. I also think June is a weird time for Starfield given it’s sort of summer and going into (at least northern hemisphere) holiday seasons and peak weather and being a large and time consuming RPG Im still not convinced it fits then. Redfall and May feels a fit since we’ve had far cry games in spring before. And it feels ok.
Massive RPG that’s been anticipated for a long time in June just is a bit weird.
I’m almost at the point where I’d personally prefer it September when the nights are drawing in and I’m more in my gaming zone. But that’s just me.

If a delay is needed, then yeah, hopefully August or September. August sounds good to me too. But in the case BGS is done, they are comfortable with releasing it, then i really hope they do. Don’t hold off because it’s not the right month. It’s Game Pass, things like these shouldn’t really matter anymore. 
Whatever ends up happening, once they give a new concrete date, they’ll hit that.
Yeah I think if the reports are true that they are targeting June but might slip from that - I don’t think there is going to be a major delay if one does happen. I don’t mind so long as they get the time they need, whether that requires an additional delay or not.
