Lol I just noticed the inclusion of BG3.
But anyway I really don’t feel bad for them for that, they actually got publicity from it, no way they’re hating that. Anyone can say to hate console war and probably be right, but if it brings them publicity I’m pretty sure they don’t care.
Yeah, for better or for worse the console wars nonsense gave this game a boost. The game almost being console exclusive and releasing near Starfield gave the game extra attention. I think the game could be a good starting point for people unfamiliar with CRPGs, but I really hope people aren’t getting it due to console wars and end up hating the game without knowing what they’re getting themselves into
Would like for people to check out Divinity
I really need to revisit wasteland 3 . I couldn’t play it last gen due to my one x having heating issues while playing it
Wasteland 3 was so good. The writing was honestly mad genius, it reacted to even the stupid shit you did, at least they made it feel like that through sheer design brilliance. The voice acting was stellar too. I’d honestly say it’s probably the best modern CRPG that’s not made by Larian, I haven’t played everything from the genre, but just from what I played, and honestly I also get that sentiment from some of the reviews I’ve seen of it.
I had some fun with Redfall despite the massive flaws, that being said, I’m not sure how much of this is Pete doing his PR thing but I’m of the opinion that they should basically do the bare minimum and move on
Get out the extra character content, the 60fps, QoL stuff they’ve planned and move on, this isn’t a FO76 situation where it’s a GaaS so it can keep making money but more importantly, it’s not a game they can fix without pretty much changing everything about it
You could fix all the glitches/add QoL improvements/make it 60fps, it’s not gonna fix fundamental problems of the game
Move on and start a new chapter with Prey 2 or something new and get back to what Arkane is known for and good at
I played it on PC and had a good time to be honest, did a full playthrough in a week or so and enjoyed the storyline while I do think that the enemy AI needed some work for sure, but the overall art style and environments were far from lacking imo. Playing it doing a downtime might be a good idea for you, especially once it’s all patched!
I finished it in the first week and loved it. I was more talking about replaying it with different characters and builds.
I want to get some of my friends to do co-op as well.
Arkane should patch up Redfall as best as possible, add the 60FPS option and the two new characters before they go on their Holiday/Winter break. Come back in 2024 working on their next new single player immersive sim. Stop wasting time on a game that’s dead, buried and simply wasn’t any good. Sometimes, people need to know when it’s time to just take the loss and move on.
You kill me with this dead game mentality just cuz you don’t play doesn’t mean it doesn’t it’s dead
Exactly. It’s not costing us forum posters money, so if they believe they can improve it, let them go ahead. As Pete Hines said, it’ll be available on Game Pass in the future, better to have it leave at least a decent impression than it does in its current state.
It prevents them from moving on to a new game. Hopefully it’ll be Roadhouse doing whatever fixes and Arkane moves on to whatever is next.
Dude we’re not getting a game from them for another four or five years let them take their time but in the meantime improve the game they release cuz it’s going to be in game pass and and try to be the best it can be
Yep, it’s fine. I really hope they go back to what they do best, immersive sims. I have given up on a Prey sequel though.
As long as it’s a small team or Roadhouse. Rather not have the majority of the team trying to fix this game. That 4-5 years could turn into 5-6 years as a result.
there are plenty exciting projects from other 1st party studios to look for… if you are disagreeing with what certain dev are doing within Xbox. better let dev doing their own things rather than ‘asking’ them to fully move on to the next project.
Honestly I’d not expect it to be a huge team working on it from whichever studio, I’m sure their original plan called for some ongoing support from the studio for a while anyway before the next project was ready for full hands on, though they might pull in some help from Xbox ATG or some other studios. I’d not mind them fixing it up, I liked the premise of this but ended up dropping off mostly because of quality of life stuff. I’d like if it got where I wanted to go back.
Considering the information we have about much of the studio hoping the game was cancelled, I’m not sure it’s as simple as that.
I don’t mind them fixing it up either, it’s just a question of how ‘fixed up’ and the resources and time that takes. If it’s adding 60fps and bug fixes then yeah I can see that. If it’s tackling some of the bigger issues with the game then I’d rather them move on.
