Xbox Game Studios |OT12| The One with Starfield and Activision Blizzard King

Whenever I practice dos in ESO I always feel like I’m grasping at straws, for example my new best

Is something that came about after going back to a Champion Point node that I had given up on. Because it was being out performed by a more damage one.

But since adding new gear in Za’an(which makes no sense, since Za’an doesn’t crit) and switching between Red Mountain to Nirn(likely the one getting the better crits). I was able to do a good run with my Imperial Stamania sorcerer, that eeked out another 2k DPS higher than my best before the new update.

Heh, Hellblade 2 is only two months away.

Maybe better weaving ? Btw I would drop Red Mountain, CD is way too long.

Some interesting points about Ara’s development and engine. Also it seems they already have a release date (unannounced).

Oh I’m using Nirn for this one. With Red Mountain I can only get 97k at most, so not really all that big of a difference really. The main thing I’m finding being the biggest difference between attempts is: crits(as always) and how often crystal frags Procs(I use bound armaments when testing but while frags varies more it generally performs better).

As for better weaving, I’m not going to start learning to block cancel, as that’s pretty damn annoying. This 102k was pretty much perfect, as I don’t remember not light attacking or letting any skills run out.

I’m also not planning to use go farming for any best other bis sets. As I mostly care about the sets that are my favorite(still using Unthadomable in that parse). It’s also why I also tend to drop Nirn and go back to Red Mountain often lol.

Unfathomable is visually one of the coolest sets in the game. If you want to push the dummy, maybe test Mech Acuity. Probably the best set for pure burst DMG. Burning Spellweave should be solid as well.

I think only Templar and Arcanist have a body set that’s so good it’s impossible to drop. Deadly Strike is godly and it’s so easy to get as well.

Yup, I have had some of the pieces for deadly already and just bought the rest for my Arcanist. I’m using it, Velothi and Nirn. But I can’t get used to the recommend skills, so I shorten it about 1 or 2 skills.

As for mech acuity, I think I could give it shot and do some testing.

Hopefully. MS first party output this 1st quarter has been shocking. Thank god for 3rd party games though

It really has, for me its excaberated by the slow pace of adding in Activision Games into GP.

It honestly feels like the acquisition didn’t happen.

When did we get in the mentality that first party needed to drop games on a quarterly basis? Just because they have a goal of having a game out per quarter?

I think that’s primarily a thing for making sure Game Pass has good content consistently enough to keep people subbed.

They’ll have more than 4 games out this year, but unfortunately game development doesn’t exactly scale in a way that games magically release once per quarter so some quarters might be more loaded than others.

Compare that to the competition and MS first party is godlike this year to be honest and we apparently still have surprises to come!

Oh brother, can we not? The games are ready when they’re ready.

I wouldn’t say their output or lack there of is shocking. Microsoft had nothing in the first half of 2021 and 2022. 2023 was the first year they released games in the first half of the year. This year, it’s just Hellblade 2 in May. But none of this should be surprising as Microsoft loves stacking the second half of the year, especially the Fall so at least the second half of 2024 should easily make up for the first half.

They literally havent released a single first party game this year. How is that godlike? We have 0 indication about the quality of their titles coming out this year.

Just a wild guess, but I think he is talking about the entire year champ.

meh glass half full

So, you are using reviews as a point against Redfall, but Forza was a dud while it had high reviews? What is it, are reviews an important metric or are they not?

It’s also entirely not true that we don’t have an indication about upcoming games’ quality, Hellblade 2 & Indiana Jones look absolutely stellar and are the studios in their element. Avowed so far hasn’t showcased Obsidian’s strengths which are writing and RPG, I’ll admit, but it did show they stepped up their game in a lot of the technical and presentation areas, and at the end of the day it’s also the studio in their element of RPGs. I’ll understand your point if the studios were making different genres and were not showing great (like Redfall).

Forza reviewing well before all of its issues became apparent isn’t saying much. The fact its dropped out of most played charts and bombed in the sales charts shows its not a high quality GAAS. People who can play it via a sub werent a month after its release.

I honestly dont see how Hellblade 2 looks quality outside of its visuals. Ninja Theory for the past 4 years has done everything possible to avoid showing uncut gameplay that isnt a set piece. That doesnt signal confidence to me. It looks like it has the same mediocre combat from the first game and has “outside hallways”. I’d love for Ninja Theory to prove me wrong.

Indy looks awesome, Machinegames knows what they are doing.

I recently replayed Hellblade and the combat is just there, it’s fine, it’s not the point of the game and the game isn’t built around having great combat, you said they only showed set pieces and yeah that’s a lot of their intention with Hellblade; immersive cinematic and interactive storytelling. When did combat become the only thing to count for gameplay? It seems you want something from NT like DmC or Enslaved, which that is fair, but looking for it in Hellblade doesn’t make sense. And it’s not say there shouldn’t or wouldn’t be improvements to it, there’s ways to lessen the repetitive feeling of it, but this isn’t a game anyone would play for combat honestly so only looking at the combat and dismissing the quality of all that’s been shown is just not it.
