Speaking of Fable… Back when Eurogamer had not yet published their rumor article about how Playground was working on Fable, I remember there was a job ad about a open world game by PG and it mentioned Horizon ZD too. This was way before the acquisition even happened too. I remember how people on RE were begging for Xbox to pick this up. Clearly this became Fable, what I wonder is, PG showed something to Phil and this was before the acquisition iirc, it must have looked like something that could easily be turned into Fable I guess. But with all that in mind I don’t think anyone has to fear that it won’t be a SP oriented game, like we discussed yesterday.

Let me put it this way: games designed first for single player but then add co-op as an option or a seperate mode are fine, as you said and I agree many games prove that. What some of us don’t like are co-op first games that have a ‘solo option’ where the experience is usually not well structured for single player.

I never meant it was what XGS made previously, it’s just what we’re having our concerns about based on Redfall, Contraband, Project Dragon, and even the Shaolin project, which seems like a lot of games in similar vain we knew about very close to each other.

Yeah I hope so too, but I think it will have some live elements.

The kind of MP I’d be fine with in Fable is the kind of “Summons” system you see in Fromsoft games. But I think Fable will have a more “shared world” design with co-op raids and such.

Personally I wouldn’t mind it if that’s all optional and who knows, I might even do them too, but the bulk of the game I will go solo. But I do NOT need to see other players regardless of me choosing to go solo, if I go for singleplayer I want to only see actual NPCs doing their daily stuff. Like someone here said before, seeing other players all crowded around a NPC or jumping around and doing stupid shit, lol, nope.

Since it’s PG we automatically assume it won’t be singleplayer only, but isn’t the bulk of this team brand new people? Or are a good amount of FH devs on it too, I wonder? In FH if you play solo we still see drivatars, right? But they just drive around, I don’t think that could work for NPC’s since they should be performing realistic behaviour to make that world feel real and alive.

Oh man, I have no idea. I mean Avowed seems like a very likely candidate to be there, Starfield will most likely get a awesome deep dive. Will they cover yet another RPG or leave that for another show? I say go for it, show all you got, make it RPG heavy I don’t care. But I’m not willing to bet on it yet, haha.

I really hope so, it’s been a good minute since we saw the first trailer and little to no official info to this day. So I truly hope they have a update for us sooner than later.

We only had one media person last year after E3 imply that it was MMO, I don’t know if that person was even legit, didn’t really research it back then. But we did have good sources saying it could have online elements of some kind. Which wouldn’t be surprising after all the FH games.

Variety for the win. People need to stop bitching at one another based on personal preferences. Xbox have a ton of games in development, in a wide variety of genres & styles. There will be something for everyone.

How else will Game Pass continue to grow.
