Xbox isn't leaving you behind - But it is moving forward

Eventually… Probably!

They do need to start investing in more mobile publishers (like Playrix) to get ahead of the game though. Tencent are way ahead at the moment…

  1. Supercell (Finland): $762m
  2. Moon Active (Israel): $755m
  3. Konami (Japan): $736m
  4. Niantic (USA): $672m
  5. NCsoft (Korea): $642m
  6. 37Games (China): $609m
  7. Square Enix (Japan): $595m
  8. LilithGames (Hong Kong): $594m
  9. FunPlus (Switzerland): $546m
  10. Xflag (Japan): $531m

In fact it’s one of the topics they discussed on XboxTwo the other day. How do Xbox attract new customers to a model where they have to buy both hardware and $70 games, when they can play Fortnite, CoD Mobile and Genshin Impact with console like graphics for free with something that’s already in their pocket?

Maybe Xbox create F2P mobile versions of Halo Infinite, Forza, Flight Sim & Elder Scrolls etc?

Besides that I think people will gravitate to where their libraries are meaning most Xbox players will still stay Xbox and Steam only for what they can’t get on Xbox. Another thing is Game pass will probably push most new people to Xbox, then there is also the backwards compatibility games that are not on Steam and require work on PC, I really don’t think Steam is that much of a competition for Xbox for Windows maybe.

One thing that greatly interests me if Microsoft is able to get Steam on their next gen Xbox console is that I would have access to the games that go into Early Access like No Rest For The Wicked which is later this week on Steam but my laptop can’t run it. So in this regard, it’s definitely a positive to get Steam on Xbox.

I think a lot of games going first to PC might stop when that happens especially if it is the PC version that becomes native to the next Xbox.

Perhaps but I don’t see publishers ending Early Access for games because it does work. I know Xbox has Game Preview so games have and could go on it that way but it’s rare compared to Steam.

I just mean if the development process becomes similar it would be easier and cheaper to release on multiple systems. You’re right early access isn’t going away.

To me I think it’s either F2P or subscription. 70 dollar games are not doing it anymore. Only certain franchises seem to sell well the rest seem to just be chance. Coupled with that there aren’t any real current gen games that shouts nextgen. Seems many think nextgen will truly begin with either COD or GTA 6. Xbox last June showcase had that kind of feel for the games especially Fable, maybe this upcoming June show will be another one with GEARS rumored to be on another level.

I almost feel it’s already that way with movies now, It’s either cinema or subscriptions.

I would be interested to know what % buy movies and shows digitally over just consuming them via a subscription.

I think your right though eventually I think it will be mostly a mixture of subscriptions and F2P.

I feel it’s that way as well. I think the storefront idea will push for a unified format for games that will change things. This way the industry can grow as more platforms and players can come in.

How are you determine who is responsible for what? Anything Sarah Bond wants to do, Phil is signing off on.

This whole next Xbox will be more like a PC, it’s just people guessing right? Or has MS implied this too? Other than Phil Spencer saying he’d like to see Steam store on Xbox?

I am all for it if this means we get to play games we otherwise wouldn’t, such as Ready or Not for example.

What is happening April 30th?

Why are you basing your opinion on rage and click bait posts from social media platforms? they only farming your (misguided) attention to make some bucks.

I know that it is better to ignore social media, but its become really hard to just plain ignore it in when you need to use it in order to lead others view your crafts and get job opportunities. Sorry, thats rather personal stuff.

Noentheless, I want to know that my investment into anything i buy can give me, as a consumer, benefits in the form of better games, in terms of exclusive content only found within the ecosystem, experience with the controller, and improvements in overall hardware. Plain and simple.

So how will this moves being done by Xbox Higher ups these previous months will provided benefits for console users long term? That’s pretty much what i wanna know. It does not help that i think journalists gb

Huh, yeah I want to know that too.

Isn’t this the release date for Sea of Thieves on PlayStation 5?

EDIT: Just looked up the release date which is the 30th so im guessing this is what Phantom was talking about.

I think part of it is the same rationale that people use to care about console sales. Profitable business means more investment, more investment means more games for folks playing in the Xbox ecosystem.

Remember that they said they are trying to grow without scarificng the console user base, I’d except them to slow down or walk it back if they really start to see negative results.

Oh, yeah that is not going to be insufferable at all for me. I expect the Playstation Showcase to be insufferable if they finally have a good one, but not that lol.

Haha. Yeah, it all is what it is. I do understand where Phantom is coming from though because I do feel the same but there’s nothing we can do about any of it. Like every company, Microsoft is going to do what they want to do and that’s it.

As for PlayStation Showcase being insufferable, while many are predicting May which is possible, im staying with September 2024 as the showcase that will be for PlayStation 5 what E3 2016 was for PlayStation 4. My hope is for Sony to have their kick ass showcase during the week of June 9th because I’ll be on my annual 10 day vacation so to get Summer Game Fest, the Xbox Showcase, the PlayStation Showcase, Ubisoft Forward and more in that 10 day span would be freaking awesome for me!!! :joy:

Well, my concerns comes from Halo, Gears, Forza and Fable being ported to playstation and nintendo, this would surely kill console, right, no? Since these are flagships titles and consoles need flagship series for its a part of its identity . Am i wrong on this?

Cause i see so many people online think that as a possibility as well as a good idea that is baffling to think off. Its like they want a duopoly of high prices from playstation and nintendo.
