I watched part of it, no one seemed to know what his actual issues were. Was weird.
Wait and see till the end of the year, hopefully we get some much needed answers, otherwise costumers will have a right to ask what is gonna happen with their investment in the ecosystem and that is not something Satya can ignore as having people leave the ecosystem will be bad overall for their plans and ambitions.
Also, its the dudeâs choice in the end no one elses. Also, he might just have something else going on that he wants to prioritized.
Itâs far too levelheaded to gain any traction. Where. Is. The. Drama?! Why is he not thinking of how to ignite the fervor of middle-aged man children stanning their plastic box?
In all seriousness, I hope his line of thinking gains more traction over time.
nah, in june event he will be back (again probably), like the other emocional xbox fans, I bet that
i wouldnât be surprised if he changing the boat is a way to get more views, I remember MBG (yea that ps fanboy) before defending ps, he was a xbox content channel, then shifted to ps fanboy content making negative xbox videos for views
I thought his point was pretty clear that he already has a PC, so Xbox becoming a PC doesnât really grab him.
To keep fans like him buying the hardware, I think Xbox is going to have to show a small form factor that pulls together everything like a dream. In other words, it needs to be as slick as the Xbox console experience today, while giving you a lot of options to pull all the possible choices to play the most games possible all together. And sell it at a reasonable price.
nah, heâs just being emotional, ms is showing they are bringing the xbox things to a pc hybrid console
btw I donât want him back, true fans never give up for a uncertain thing
I havenât seen the exact clip but the highlights Iâve seen was him just not getting the PC hybrid thing, he had no issue with multiplatform from what Iâve seen. I also think saying PC hybrid might be confusing to some people. Xbox is going to bring out a proper console NextGen with maybe some PC gaming functionality according to Jez Corden. I think more and more people are going PC but there is still interest in console so maybe if Xbox can unify their console, PC and Mobile platforms to deliver a truly authentic gaming platform on any device that would be a huge W.
I think itâs looking for all the world that weâre looking at Fall 2026 date for the Next Xbox.
It seems to Xbox is running down supplies of the Series consoles to which may imply Xbox is now starting to look at getting their pipelines ready for the Next box production.
I hope Xbox doesnât go with higher and lower-priced console models. It never worked for them in the past and I doubt it will in the future.
Just go with a top end console and a handheld (if one must)
This runs the risk of losing all those people that bought in due to the series s entry price
The series S was a great idea for the casual.
Iâd go as far as saying that many with the series s donât even know or care about black myth isnât on series S
âTrue fansâ. Oh my god.
We are talking about videogames here, folks.
I think you are reaching way to high on the mobile front. Apple and Google is still trying their hardest to make sure no other stores are in their products but their own.
Also, i donât fully trust Jez in certain things, the thought of a pc hybrid is interesting but thereâs some drawback, someone mentioned how if they put other stores on the Xbox console it could lead to less sales on the Micrsoft store and i think they would not want that at all. Personal opinion
True, but its also about the ecosystem as well. No offense.
Question: If Xbox fumbles with the multiplat thing this year and lose several members of the ecosystem by next gen with this strategy: What are the things they could do that would make the next gen hardware truly valuable for both a casual and avid gamer?Cause again, gamepass is great but you can play it anywhere these days so its least valid for this particular question.
Honestly, i think they would pivot to exclusives or acquiring big and small names, so they cannot be ignored by every publisher or studio in the industry, if things end up bleak for them in the long run with less and less customers on the ecosystem.
Am sure that they are well aware that they cannot screw their current customers, otherwise it will be extremealy bad for them in the long term health of the brand as a platform holder.
I know you guys do not want to hear this but honestly the whole plastic box thing is going to fade away for everyone even Sony eventually.
Just look at all Consumer Media and where it is headed and ask yourself is a local processing plastic Box really in the mid to long term future for this industry?
I mean look at the people that are holding on to dear life to physical games these days? Honestly it is kind of sad to see them try and swim against the current and hunker down trying to make physical media flop around longer while the entire rest of the world moves on.
The same thing is starting to happen with Physical local consoles, the in roads to a post console future are already here.
You can already play games streaming at using a virtual high end PC in the 4080RTX class GPU range using Geforce now.
That already blows past local consoles. These services will grow and improve in the next few years and it will be perfectly viable to be an Xbox gamer with tons of Xbox games subbed to gamepass and NOT own a console at all.
If you are not mentally prepared for that future you need to get there soon cause it is coming and at some point local consoles will be regulated to retro emulators and mini consoles and general niche cases.
The Box wars are done and the Boxes themselves will be a relic of the past. We probably have 2 normal hardware cycles left and Iâd suspect mid way through the second of these hardware cycles people will keep dumping local hardware for advanced streaming on whatever device they want to that has a screen.
Not only is the Console buy rate not growing it is in active decline across the board and the only one of them that really grew is the Switch as it embraced the mobile form factor.
So really some people hung up on plastic boxes need to to talk to their Physical games only friends and see how limiting that is over time.
The EU will make sure they comply in due time. America is messed up, even more so under the current administration, but at least some parts of the world still try to fight for consumer rights.
Not saying MS will be successful on the mobile front, but I think the walls will break soon enough.
Even then, it depends on how you want to look at it. The Wii + DS sold 250 million combined. The Switch has sold âonlyâ 150 million. (Which is still very successful, of course.)
My prediction for the Switch 2 is maybe half of that, since it doesnât bring much new to the table, while facing considerably more competition in the handheld space from smartphones, PCs and Android/cloud gaming devices.
Itâs just a matter of time before Nintendo has to pivot as well. If theyâre smart, theyâll start their own cloud gaming service a couple of years after the Switch 2 launches and hardware sales slow down. (But they probably wonât.)
I found most people only bought a Series S becasue the Series X was so hard to source in the first three years. Not many really wanted the Series S, like for the Xbox 360 Arcade unit back in the day.
Developers will have a hard enough time making games for the next Xbox and the handheld unit, donât thrown-in another Xbox unit into the mix
Unless you talked to 10 million people, this is just anecdotal evidence.
If youâre talking anecdotal evidence. How many of those 10 million users bought the Series S out of choice, or because they couldnât source a Series X unit?
Only if they no longer make games for PS4, XboxOne, Nintendo Switch, and the brand new Nintendo Switch 2. All of those systems will have harder time to port games to than the Series S.
