I can see them going after some big ones, which remains to be seen I guess. Already seeing total idiots there going “MS started this war, Sony will end it.”
Delusional doesn’t begin to describe it. I do hope the ABK thing won’t go on forever and ever while Sony gets to nab all kinds of studios left and right.

I think many forget this is for Sony as a whole and a good portion of it would be used on music and movie industry. I don’t see those funds being used for a major publisher, but could see them going after developers though
Ah yes, but that’s what I am expecting too. Development studios, but a publisher I have my doubts about that too.
I only hope that DQ remains DQ.

Most publishers are worth more than that budget , and even somebody like Square doesn’t make sense since they can secure exclusive rights easily. I think they will continue their path on taking gambles on smaller or startup studios.
I wonder if they’ll go deeper into anime acquisitions because it seems crazy they’ve been able to get a bunch of rights for anime streaming

Akira Toriyama still being involved basically confirms to me that it’ll still be DQ. Try having story themes like that and saying it’s an ultra mature story for Westerners when the game looks like this

Yeah, not really feeling that one to be honest.
That’s why I hope we’re gonna see a changed MS sooner rather than later. They can do a lot with that ABK money if needs be, but that’s assuming the deal won’t happen.
While it now seems MGS3 (and likely Castlevania too) are not Sony exclusive, I still expect a few games to be announced tomorrow that are either timed exclusive or full on, some big ones at that too. So I hope MS managed to secure some big stuff for Xbox (GP) too, for me it doesn’t necessarily only need to be GP either. Indies are great, but I really hope for some big stuff too.
If a game is good, I buy it. I bought Dead Island 2, I am planning on getting Hogwarts Legacy after I finish other open world titles. Sony is not playing nice, we’ve seen that with the ABK situation. At times I wish MS would become Xbox 360 levels of aggressive again.
But that’s me hoping they start to care outside Game Pass too, but it’s probably not likely.

This is an exclusive I don´t care about. I prefer action RPG rather than turn-based ones, but I don´t like what I see of it.
I feel like the game attempts to recreate the medieval european aesthetic from the perspective of more oriental sensibilities, with really lame results in my opinion, the visual identity of the series is completely missing. Also, HUD is utterly crowded with numbers constantly popping on combat, I hate that.

why bring it to Xbox platform for “free” like with other platforms when you can “kindly ask” the platform holder to give ‘additional resources’ (read: money) to help dev quickly bringing the game over. seriously i feel like some devs out there (SE and some indie devs like this one) are just being greedy and simply want that gamepass money rather than expanding their consumers.
