I do wonder what will he be doing in that position for a year. Hopefully the right move.

As long as we can use more weapons than just the swords, that would be a major improvement. I find the Witcher 3 to be kind of boring to replay because builds feel so limited too me.

I hope they improve the combat

I’ve never played that game. Hope it’s true, because I guess that would increase chances of FF7R too, lol. Let’s first see if we’re actually getting 16.

It’s one of my favorite FF games simply due to the cast and over the top fantasy world.

That sounds good.

I am hoping they go with the FF7R combat, but didn’t the dev say they will go back to turn-based? Or was that only for brand new games, such as a FF17?

That was already signaled when they fired their old CEO, no?

Nothing is a given yet. I saw some people in that Twitter thread wondering who that person is, it’s a new one. Hopefully more reputable sources can corroborate too.

Happy to know FFIX remake is seemingly multiplatform. Day One on Series X.

I wouldn’t expect big changes like FF7R, I’m guessing it will be a graphical upgrade and some other improvements than a complete overhauled remake like FF7

Yeah, this is going to keep to turn-based system. I hope they have something to accelerate/modernise it or difficulty levels because I dont like turns. The characters and world are too good to pass on though.

Because of what the dev said (although I’m not sure if he only meant future new mainline entries)? Isn’t there move to real-time for FF7R very well received? Man, we finally might be getting FF remakes and the next one would be TB, not a fan. But we’ll see.

Rumors say this is going to be a way more modest game than the likes of FFVII remake, which makes sense, FFVII is probably the most famous FF and fondly remembered entry, so the massive development effort and budget which requires transforming a turn-based game into an action one, that is almost as making a brand new game, is not that financially risky.

I just want to say that I actively dislike all of you who want these remakes to be all action and not turn based.

I don’t play these games, but I sympathize. I feel the same way about people wanting Bethesda to ā€œmodernizeā€ their games.

Besides, isn’t Persona considered plenty ā€œmodernā€? That’s turn based.

Sounds good I hope it turns out well. Love me more BotW inspired open worlds.

I’ll give an example of where I wish AI was implemented to assist in a game experience:

I one of those weirdos that completely turns off the HUD in Forza Motorsport. For me it’s completely immersive and looks fantastic. I pop into the cockpit view (sans wheel) and I turn up the drift cam so the camera sways a bit more and it’s just awesome.

But there is some necessary information that I’m missing that I keep track of in my head as a result. Things like which lap I’m on and what position I’m in. Things like how much fuel I have and how worn my tires are.

I would absolutely love the feature of having my pit crew tell me these things throughout the race. And more than that I would love the ability to ask for this information while I’m racing. Where I can aak them to keep me updated on the racer in front or behind me, and they would occasionally keep me up to date on how many seconds in front or behind me they are.

ā€œDo I have enough fuel for another two laps?ā€ ā€œIf I pit now how many positions will I lose?ā€

These sorts of things could really change the experience completely.

Motorsports are a team effort and games like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport have never really conveyed that. Having AI step in to make it seem like you’re not alone in each race seems to be a sensical addition.
