First Xbox Showcase 2024, now seeing high praise for CoD campaign is back on the menu let alone returning home. It really feels like my childhood is back. This is a great start for CoD on Game Pass push. Keep in mind, it won’t hit bullseye overnight, but the fact all CoD going forward will be on the service means more and more people are going to invest. Now Xbox should really capitalize the holiday rush with sales you can’t miss.

I really doubted that and I would say this confirms that too.

Shouldn’t shock anyone, and as people have said before this stuff changes on the fly. I still very much expect that the next console will launch with games only available for that and probably Series consoles, timed exclusive yes, but definitely some stuff that won’t be launching day and date on other platforms. They’d be nuts to launch next Xbox with Gears E-Day and have that day and date on PS5 (Pro).

Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a bunch more Switch 2 ports next year but it might just be COD + the 3 ones before that weren’t on Switch.

ETA: 3 ones being Sea of Thieves, Indy, HiFi (tho this would be Krafton)

I’ve only watched the first episode so far, it was fine. However, don’t go in with any expectations about the characters or story of the games because it won’t meet any of them.

Like it would just be silly to not put Sea of Thieves, ESO, Fallout 76, Diablo 4, COD on Switch 2.

(ETA: not to mention patches for Minecraft, Grounded, etc.)

Yep, those makes plenty sense. And eventually, at some point down the line I can see IP like Gears, Halo, Fable etc ship on PS and Switch 2 too, but I can’t see it being day and date anytime soon. If Fable hits next year it will be on Xbox only first. People might think Indy was an indicator of things, but Indy is not a Xbox franchise/IP.

Yeah these execs tend to choose their wording very carefully to give them some leeway whatever ends up happening. I just can’t muster the energy to worry over it anymore. It’s no secret that I disagree with the multiplatform approach outside of Activision( to put it lightly), but MS will do what it feels is best for their business and unless a sizable amount of fans were to drop their ecosystem and fuck with their bottom line in protest I don’t see them changing course.
