It is? Here I thought it was 60fps already, I could swear Death of the Outsider is? Hmm.

Yeah, Death of the Outsider is 60 FPS but not Dishonored 2. It is weird.

I’m still hopeful Xbox will rerelease some of these games, or even better, patch them for Next-gen.

Still need to finish this game. Multiple times from what I’ve heard.

Much easier completion than it seems at first glance, since the game has an ā€œachievement shopā€ where you can buy locked achievements for in-game money.

Well that’s something.

So I’m hosting a Street Fighter 1-6 tournament at my place tomorrow. Fot Street Fighter 2 & 3 I have my 360 hooked up to my old 19 inch CRT with some arcade sticks for that classic feel.

While recycling I saw this beauty at the electronics recycle:

It’s a massive (32 inches?) Panasonic with a very flat display. I was so ready to put that in my car when I saw that the power plug was cut off around a half inch from the base of the TV. Possibly cut because it doesn’t work and to save others from trying to reuse it. But man, that would have been glorious.

I’m going to check Kijiji because this got me pretty randy for a 32 inch flat CRT.

Ideally I’d like to make an Xbox 360 stand up arcade unit one day. A big screen would be nice. The 19 inch one looks fantastic but a bit small and too curvy.

I’m not kidding when I say CRTs make these 2D low res games look 10 times better. I truly wish Sony considered making enthusiast CRTs for gamers, even if sold at premium prices due to low volume sales.

  • addendum- Ok, I just checked the specs on the TV and it’s 250lbs so I would probably need a second person to get it in the car lol. Also it is a 32 inches.

For some reason I was convinced only Dishonored definitive edition that got an FPS Boost. Thanks for pointing this out, now I have something to try whenever I finish Indiana.

I dare say, close to accurate in terms of boot up.

As long as I can turn it off at the system level without turning off the current triggers rumble I will have no issues. Also, haptics before hall effect stick?

Yeah I really don’t want to that stuff to start eating at the battery or anything. The battery life is already so damn good on these controllers. On the other hand, if MS keeps supporting the option of rechargeables it’s all good.

Hall effect is that stick drift doesn’t easily happen?

I do think that the next version of the controller needs to be more than an incremental jump.

Hall effect joysticks would be great. I personally think rear buttons would make the Xbox the ā€œdefaultā€ controller of the generation.

Hot take: the Xbox would be the #1 selling console if its regular controller had rear buttons. @ me only to praise me for this take.

Earlier I suggested OS-level adjustable tension on the joysticks with Hall effect sensors but people didn’t like that idea. So I’m sort of kidding about the rear buttons. But I do think it should have been standard this generation.

Yeah, Hall effect sticks should help so much with drift issues as they last longer, they can also allow us to turn the dead zone to 0 on games that offer it for better reaction in game.

Unfortunately, Xbox could literally make the best controller ever made and the media will never even bother covering the controller unless PlayStation decided to copy the features. Or it’s somewhat of a mess because of quality issues that get somewhat overblown online(but unfortunately, I suffered from every time, I try to be careful with my controllers but I’m guessing I’m just not :frowning: )

What would be great if the standard controller for next gen comes with paddles. Ever since I have had Elites I can’t be without paddles anymore, I never press in The sticks anymore to run in games, that’s what I have the paddles for now.

I think even 2 buttons on the back with a third around the middle that we press down for a couple of seconds to set what each button is(recently got a power A controller that does this) would be great. But for me Hall Effect sticks are the most important, because like I wrote before I try to be careful but I guess I’m not.

I’ve been using mostly third party controllers for a while and man, Xbox is way behind 8bitdo or PowerA. You can get backpaddles and Hall effect for half the cost on sale.

Cant get design lab style stuff which is the only downside.
