But what exactly would Discord have meant for us on Xbox? What kind of things can PS players expect to be able to use and do?
I’ve only used Discord once or twice on my Surface and then never again. Trying to figure out why console players want it.

This isnt that kind of investment.
This occurred as part of discords series H funding round. A funding round is basically when the company, in this case discord, says to the investment community “we are worth this much (in this case $7B) and we want to raise $100m” Then people in the investment community say “I’ll invest $20m” or however much until they have enough investors to make up the total amount the the company wants to raise. So sony just happened to be one of those investors.
Also this series H funding round occured in december of 2020, so this all happened before microsoft and discord got to talking

I think Discord helping Sony out with their party chat system is probably more of a big deal than Xbox getting them because Xbox party chat is pretty good and you can chat to people on PC anyway. Discord for Xbox was more about the users and to improve PC/Console even more.
I feel like MS fixing the Win10 store and making massive changes could be their move on making a Steam / Discord combined chat/store app for Xbox/PC.
If they all are teasing the same thing then i can’t wait, that means Xbox news or at least multiplatform news.

Anyone else find it strange how we got the first Game Pass wave on Monday this time instead of the usual Tuesday?

Klobrille wouldn’t tease something if it at least doesn’t affect Xbox, so it is at least multiplatform news. I really do think it is a Star Wars game and rumours have been circling that Microsoft was enquiring about Lucasfilm IP so who knows.

They also announced them on the same day as the new FPS Boost additions when theoretically it would make more sense to have a day between them (thus putting Game Pass at it’s usual Tuesday)

It just shows that they have NO idea at all that FPS boost is done by team Xbox. Sony doesn’t have it.
Speaking of Deus Ex and Dying Light, how I wish the devs had X enhanced these games man. Especially so DL, it looks…rough. But alas.

Maybe the RE tweet was legit after all. I’d like to believe Jez knew damn well what he was doing posting that RE7 clip so soon after that tweet, but also liking a tweet by someone here that noted him of it.
