IF that happens, it will be exactly like exclusives coming to PC Day One. People will complain, then later on business and numbers will show that MS was right once again.

I am all for it. All Games everywhere is the future we all deserve and the only way to end this stupid console war. If Xbox brings its games to switch via gamepass I would tip my hat. This would be the balsiest move ever from one of the big three.

I didn’t complain about that though… PC is different, it’s a diverse platform where MS also happens to have a substantial precense. Switch? Nah not the same.

The problem is “healthy ecosystem” does nothing for ME, when the deal only goes one way.
NIntendo isn’t going to allow to stream Nintendo games on Xbox… Nintendo isn’t going to allow old NES ports on Xbox. I get nothing from this deal as someone who plays almost exclusively on local hardware, and the people who only play local hardware on Switch gets much better value on their system than I do.
It’s make the physical Xbox platform have a lesser value, even if the hardware is what’s powering the xCloud.
It is the same in concept. A move people wouldn’t understand at first, and then people will be wrong once again.
Again, xCloud is functioning with XBOX hardware, not just servers. Devs need to make an Xbox game to make a Cloud game. So it is like playing remotely on Xbox via another support. Console is not getting anywhere, it is litteraly the CENTER of the ecosystem.
Let me elaborate.
If Xbox games come out on Nintendo or PS consoles, then why would MS put so much effort in their own ecosystem with DX12U and RDNA2? We have gamestack coming soon to highlight just that, why do I need an Xbox if I can get the same Experience in any other console?
It would be way easier to build no console at all, and offer your games on other platforms from the get go, they would even maximize their revenue like that, having no need to have their onw hardware, just go third-party if that’s the case.
I don’t think xCloud is coming to the Switch, because MS wants a controlled enviroment, if Nintendo is involved it would be harder to control their own ecosystem, Nintendo would have to agree to every decision they make about their onw systems.

Healthy ecosystem means more games in xcloud, it means more third parties not skipping xbox. It means less Sony timed exclusives.

This can be achieved with a succesful console selling better this time around than the X1, simple as that, gamepass makes it way easier for devs to stop ignoring Xbox. No need for Nintendo or PS, just provide a better service, they’re providing.
