He does in fact seem a little bitter but I guess I would be too if I was with a beloved company brand since it’s inception and then was forced out during an internal power struggle

tbh for all the flack Jim Ryan has gotten for twisting the truth oh so slightly I think he has done correct moves for Sony business wise since his tenure started.

I think this time Activision Blizzard could be made an example for the industry, I don’t see them getting a free pass this time.

Wasn’t it also under Shawn Layden that there was the whole fiasco around cross-play ? I think he also wanted less games, but with more quality or something like that.
What are the blue side gonna do when the more overzealous of the fanbase realize their current plan and road map is essentially the Microsoft way?

I really hope so.
He wanted shorter games like Miles Morales and Lost Legacy that would be less expensive and time consuming to make while still maintaining PlayStation level quality.
Shorter, Faster, Cheaper.
He was pushing for the 10 hour AAA game.

Miles Morales was kind of perfect in a way.
Content, length and price all hit the sweet spot on PS4.
Same with Lost Legacy, which is actually the BEST Uncharted game.

this guy is rambling. A lot of the questions he ask don’t align with his time at leading Playstation. I can now see how Jim Ryan got his job.
And this here makes no sense
It’s very hard to launch a $120m game on a subscription service charging $9.99 a month. You pencil it out, you’re going to have to have 500 million subscribers before you start to recoup your investment.

He’s looking at from strictly console sales.
You have to remember, his tenure was “Console Sales are King” PlayStation time.
He’s not factoring in cloud gaming, PC sales, actual physical sales and MTX.
PlayStation has ONLY just begun to pivot away from a console sales number metric.

Question about how having a game running cuts the download speed of a current download in half.
So we knew with Xbox One that if a game was running and we’re downloading a game as well the speed will be like half or even less. But with QR on Series, wasn’t there a way to keep the speed at max while also having games running in QR? I now have two games running in QR but download speed is slow as can be.
I could swear there was a new feature that makes it possible to have QR games not cut down DL speed.
