Right. Like I said the games I listed that were denied for Xbox ARE pretty garbage. I just get worried for GOOD games like Disgaea that just so happen to be full of fanservice and whether or not they would still be allowed to release on Xbox. There is ONE game from that second publisher, Gamuzumi, that released on Xbox, called Sable’s Grimoire. That game apparently had censored scenes on PS, but not on Xbox. So I find it especially strange that all of their other titles were denied from Xbox.

For MS2, it was the reason. MS2 actually did have an Asia release on PS. The thing is that Sony censored it so hard that game mechanics were literally broken. This caused many bad reviews to be left on Japanese Amazon. When they localized it they only brought the Switch version because it’s the only proper version. For Disgaea 6. It’s unknown why it’s Switch exclusive. Again, it DID release in Asia on PS. For the West, it’s a Switch exclusive. Difference here is that I’m pretty sure nothing was changed in the PS version. It’s at least rumored that Playstation America wanted nothing to do with it, though. It’s also possible Nintendo paid for exclusive rights in the West, though I believe that isn’t something Nintendo usually does.

Oh, didn’t know that Disgaea 6 was actually on PS. Thought it was Switch only.

Nothing can be done regarding censorship because western companies operate under more…puritanic online laws. It is kinda interesting how opposite is east and west in that regard. In western you can be openly 18+ so to say in real life, but cannot be online. On the east - it is vice verse. Openly 18+ is not welcome, but online - do whatever.

Hmmmm I see, very valid points there. I have played so little of Origins and Oddysey, just the very beginning really only. And when XSX came out me and my bro liked the sound of a open world action adventure in 60fps, but in hindsight we shouldn’t have bought it.

It’s clear that Ubi has a lot to change and do for AC Infinity or whatever it will be called. I have no idea yet what to think of their plans for the future for that franchise anyway.

You should have kept your backlog  I never run out of new games to play.

I agree with the bottom part about not knowing what Ubisoft is going to do. I do imagine that there will be a new AC game in 2022 because Infinity is 2024 at the earliest and I can’t see Ubisoft not having a new AC game three years in a row.

You should really play Origins and Odyssey. Seriously, they’re easily better than Valhalla in every way. The only thing I loved in Valhalla were the decapitations and dismemberment’s since both were a first for AC games.

HELL NO!!! Last generation games are long gone. Was around 5 or so. Only way I would play any of those backlogged games is if they get a Series X enhancement/optimization. I would think that Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider would but who knows???

Funny thing is that majority of the backlog I had, I just didn’t finish them.

Gotta catch 'em all!

I definitely will go back to them at some point but these games are so, so huge. And the priority right now is finally starting to a proper playthrough of RDR2. Because I played that last in the release year, story wise I was past the intro and then I took a break, lol.

The plan is to switch between that, Psychonauts 2 and also can’t forget about Yakuza 0, that break started around E3 this year, too long.

In other news…someone yesterday said there was going to be extended gameplay of Bright Memory Infinite. I searched for it but it’s not there. Is this still coming?

@peter42O over the years I accumulated a backlog of absolute shite I bought on sales that I now have little to no interest in playing.

Pro tip: Never, ever take a break in a big game. You will forget, fall off or what have you.

I have organized myself to only have one main game (usually a singleplayer game) that I play until completion. MP games, which I don’t really see as as important/serious to me, I can play whenever I feel like it and have several installed at any given time. In between the bigger main games I play small games to keep the variety going and as palette cleansers until I’m ready to tackle the next big one. I also plan these things ahead of time… but that is me being weird.

Well said. This is what I have done this year and it has worked very well for me. I have taken out a good chunk out of the backlog this way. My process is pretty much the exact same as yours.

Really good advice!

I made this mistake before with Witcher 3. I seriously must have started my playthrough over 3 or 4 times. Each time when I arrived in Velen and halfway through Bloody Baron quest. Until I finally decided it was time to 100% that badboy. I’ll try to take your advice next time.

And when you have finished a big open world game and open world fatigue sets in, you just play smaller stuff until you are ready for a big open world game again? This was my thing with Witcher 3. finished the whole story and all the side stuff and the first expansion, at that point I was tired of the big open world stuff for several months really.

No wonder we are tied in the backlog competition

Yeah I plan the Big Ones ahead of time with a good amount of time between them for other games. i also try to have a wide variety of genres, which also helps nicely to combat things like open-world fatigue. It helps that I have a broad taste in games too. With this method I finish about 40-50 games every year, and I’m almost never bored.

I have a Big One coming up soon; Assassin’s Creed: Origins. Before that it was Far Cry 5, and in between those two I will have played games like Wreckfest, Wolfenstein TNO, 12 Minutes, She sees Red and Psychonauts 2. Wildly different games, and I’m allready itching for a huge open-world game again!

Good time to remind people that Xbox is the only console that doesn’t allow you to screenshot your dashboard.

Hahaha. Yeah, Ubisoft games are huge. I’m at 120 hours for Origins but that’s for the base game and The Hidden Ones expansion with 98% completion. RDR 2 is not a small game by any means though. lol

You should maybe try playing one game at a time to completion instead of jumping between games. I used to do that until I realized that I wasn’t completing any of them. lmao.

As far as I know, there’s still a 10 minute gameplay trailer coming for Bright Memory Infinite but I don’t know when. I follow FYQD Studio on Twitter so once I see it, I’ll let you know. If it’s not within a few days, it could be set for Tokyo Game Show.

Been there. If you’re really enjoying Psychonauts 2, then I would suggest sticking with that.

Big One…huge open world. AC Origins…yeah, you’re good to go bud.

There’s also a 14 minute developer walkthrough on the IGN YouTube page for Soulstice for those interested.

Game looks freakin’ awesome and it’s Arkane we are talking about so it should be no surprise to see it getting GOTY nominations/awards, I actually think that this game will surprise a lot of people but I don’t think that PS5 gamers will give it a chance (hopefully it will do better on PC). Oh well in a year it will get the fanbase it deserves. :stuck_out_tongue:
